It might be the start of your work week, but it’s the end of some of your Airtable workarounds. For example, Automations can now be triggered when a field changes from one specific value to another, like In Process → Completed. Plus, Find records can now match on record ID, Interface Lists show totals, and you can download every file in an attachment cell in one click. (Your Downloads folder has been warned). Oh, and Arrow and Tab keys work in expanded cells again. We heard you 🫡 Those are just some of the 15 updates we shipped this week in our Automations, Interfaces & Navigation bundle. So have a look at what’s new. Then go clean up your base. https://lnkd.in/gwCaD-86

  • An update on Airtable since the acquisition closed—and where we're headed next.

Airtable: back to bases. After joining Airtable in September to lead Product as part of the Bending Spoons acquisition, the team and I spent several weeks studying the product deeply. We've talked with customers, builders, admins, and partners to understand how we can make Airtable the best platform to seamlessly bring their teams, data, workflows, and agents together in one place. We have a plan to get us there, but first I want to talk about the team that brought Airtable to where it is today. This morning, we announced that we're parting ways with several members of the pre-acquisition team. It's not a decision that we made lightly and it doesn't reflect on the passion, dedication, and pure love we found at Airtable. They've shaped much of what's coming soon and we're honored to carry the work forward to the next phase. To everyone departing—but especially those from the product, marketing, and engineering teams who I've had the pleasure to work with these weeks—thank you. Our choice is based on a strong belief that a smaller, faster-moving team is the best way to deliver on our plans going forward. For customers, nothing changes in your plan, price, or service offering. Support and account teams are staying put, and we're investing in the product for the long term. I wrote a long article about where we're going next, but here's a summary: we staffed some of our best people on Airtable and we're doubling down on improving the core product. We've already shipped 30+ improvements, but that's only the start. We're also investing in AI that works with you, controls and permissions you can easily manage, and performance & infrastructure improvements. Read the entire article here: https://lnkd.in/dkbpGdtt (P.S. Finally, we want to continue hearing what's working and what isn't. Feel free to send me a DM, or share your feedback via this form: https://lnkd.in/dRUbRXbF) (P.P.S. I'll be at Airspace London next week. If you're there, please come say hello!)

  • Jason Flores was holding out for the longest road to learning AI agents, and it paid off. His Settlers of Catan rebuild for our internal agent contest got the most feedback of any entry, and the testing setup behind it now checks his everyday workflows.

Looking through AI agents and skills built here at Airtable, one stood out: Catan. By recreating the board game, Jason Flores discovered an entertaining way to learn key skills and tools for everyday work.

It’s Friday! And if you want, in Airtable you can now set your calendar week to start on a Friday too (no judgement from us). It’s one of the 11 updates we’ve shipped this week, in our ‘Calendars, Comments & Permissions’ bundle. You also can now grant ‘Add’ and ‘Delete’ permissions separately, copy links to comments (which now also support basic rich-text formatting)… Oh, and one more thing. We’ve added emoji options to the comment composer. 😏 So don’t tell us what you think. Show us. Check out the full list right here: https://bit.ly/4hUFvlq

  • 📣 A major upgrade to Omni is here. 📣 Bring in a messy spreadsheet and Omni builds it into your base. Describe an interface page and it writes the code. Describe a workflow and it wires up the automation, then leaves it off for you to review. Faster, bigger jobs, carried through start to finish — and it asks before anything destructive. It’s rolling out over the next few weeks, but you can get access now via AI Labs. Admins can turn on AI Labs from the admin panel. Read all the details here: https://lnkd.in/gnWyqB6N
