  • What an incredible way to celebrate 35 years of serving Atlanta. The Atlanta Community ToolBank team was honored to receive a proclamation recognizing 35 years of service to our city, following a nomination from Councilmember Jason Winston. But perhaps the most meaningful part of the experience was hearing Atlanta City Council members, Jason Winston, Eshé P. Collins, Esq., Wayne Martin, Liliana Bakhtiari and Antonio Lewis, share how the ToolBank has impacted the work, lives and communities. We know we bring tools, expertise, and resources to the table. But hearing the ToolBank described as a driver of hope was especially powerful. Behind every tool borrowed is something bigger: a neighborhood being cared for, a community space being improved, or an organization being empowered to turn an idea into action. We’re incredibly proud of the past 35 years and even more grateful to the partners, nonprofits, volunteers, supporters, and community leaders who have built this legacy alongside us.

Our team enjoyed volunteering at local nonprofit Atlanta ToolBank to build "little libraries." These libraries are custom book-sharing boxes that support neighborhood literacy and are placed throughout different communities. We are proud to support the mission of Atlanta ToolBank, which loans equipment and tools exclusively to charities, nonprofits and community groups for volunteer and facility projects.

Celebrating 35 years of making an impact on Atlanta's non-profit community. If you don't know the Atlanta ToolBank, it's the non-profit who serves other Atlanta non-profits when they do their projects. When they need a shovel, a wheelbarrow, a hammer, a table and tablecloth, and so much more... Atlanta ToolBank has them covered. If you want to support and come out and celebrate the 35th year of Atlanta ToolBank, our event is Saturday, November 7th. There are sponsorship opportunities available as well. But you can also support by setting up a work volunteer session or coming out to many of the other events. Would love to see you on the 7th or let me know if you have other ideas on how to help. I'd be happy to share my experience and connect you with the team there.

  • We've had the privilege of working alongside some of Atlanta's most dedicated changemakers and witnessing the incredible impact of volunteers, nonprofit professionals, community leaders, and donors who help our city grow and thrive. This year, at our annual Hammers & Ales fundraiser, on November 7, we're proud to introduce the Community Impact Driver Award. This award recognizes an individual who goes above and beyond to strengthen our community through their work, service, leadership, and commitment to making a difference. Do you know someone whose efforts are creating meaningful change in Atlanta? Someone who inspires others, invests in their community, and helps move our city forward? We invite you to nominate them for the Community Impact Driver Award through the link in the comments.

  • I spy with my little eye… 👀🔨 Atlanta ToolBank blue tools doing more good in the community! Recently, some of our tools made their way to Koinonia Farm with Concrete Jungle to help harvest muscadines. Concrete Jungle is doing some pretty awesome work to make sure Georgians have access to fresh, healthy produce, and we’re always happy to lend a hand (or a bucket!) to help make that work possible. For this harvest, ToolBank buckets helped Concrete Jungle pick 565 lbs of muscadines to donate to a local food bank. 🍇 We love helping people help people. Here’s what Shar, Farm & Volunteer Engagement Manager at Concrete Jungle, had to say about their experience with ToolBank: “The ToolBank has been a huge help to us over the years. From borrowing miter saws for farm building projects to gloves for orchard work days, you all have been there every step of the way. Oftentimes, we have last minute tool needs due to the spontaneity of our work & it is always reassuring to know that the ToolBank will always be there to support us.” We’re proud to be there for Concrete Jungle, no matter the project. 💙 Got a project that could use some blue tools? Let’s talk! #AtlantaToolBank #ToolsForChange #ATBBlueTools #ConcreteJungle #KoinoniaFarm #CommunityImpact #AtlantaNonprofits

I had a blast attending the AgLanta Eats festival at the Atlanta Botanical Garden on Monday! 👩🌾🌿🍎 Apart from sampling small bites from local chefs, I had the chance to learn more about Atlanta's food and agriculture scene from vendors big and small. To name a few: 🌱 Used seeds to vote for where the City of Atlanta Mayor's Office of Sustainability & Resilience should focus its sustainability efforts 🌻 Learned how gardening and therapy are intertwined through programs like TRELLIS HORTICULTURAL THERAPY ALLIANCE 🛠️ Saw the circular economy at work via Atlanta ToolBank (But about those small bites ... favorites included the absolute cornucopia of beef, potato, and rice PLUS a lemon bar from Two Pieces of Toast; the insanely textural pork taco from Small Bites; and cheese-pull-maxxed pupusas from La Bodega 🤤) I'm looking for more sustainability and social impact-focused events like these to network and learn, especially as I pursue a social enterprise concentration in my MBA. If you've got something to share, please send it my way!

  • We're honored to be part of the Membership Roundtable and grateful for the opportunity to connect with such an incredible group of membership professionals across Atlanta. 💚 This month's gathering at Chattahoochee Nature Center, Inc.was a wonderful reminder of the power of collaboration, shared ideas, and community. From meaningful conversations to exploring the Butterfly Encounter and trails, it was the perfect way to recharge before heading back to work. Thank you to everyone who makes these gatherings so valuable. #MembershipRoundtable #SWAPtember #AtlantaNonprofits #CommunityCollaboration

I’m incredibly thankful for the opportunity to have our monthly Membership Roundtable meetings (This month at Chattahoochee Nature Center, Inc.) and most importantly, for the wonderful membership professionals who continue to show up, share ideas, and support one another. These gatherings are a great reminder of the strength of our fellow membership programs in town. We got up close and personal with the Butterfly Encounter after our meeting and explored CNC’s trails. A lovely transition before going back to a normal work day! Looking forward to our annual SWAPtember partnership and more meetups ahead. #MembershipRoundtable #ArtsAndCulture #AtlantaMuseums #Membership #SWAPtember
