The browser and search engine that save you time and keep you safe.
About us
Brave is building a user-first Web. The Brave browser is used by over 128 million people worldwide. It blocks third-party ads and trackers by default for fast, private browsing. It also offers a wealth of helpful features including a VPN and an AI browsing assistant. Brave is one of just three Web search indexes at scale in the West, and it’s the only one commercially available in a reliable, independent Search API. It provides users with accurate, AI-enhanced answers without profiling them. Brave Search is available as the default search engine in Brave, or via any other browser at search.brave.com. The Brave Search API helps organizations supply their AI LLMs with real-time data, power agentic search, train foundation models, and create search-enabled software. The Brave Search API helps anyone—from hobbyists to large enterprises—build applications that benefit from having access to the Web, going beyond the static knowledge of AI models. Our API uses our own search index so we can guarantee the highest privacy and security standards. Brave is also reinventing digital advertising. Users can opt into our privacy-first digital ads platform to earn crypto rewards for their attention. Advertisers get access to engaged, otherwise unreachable audiences. Creators can unlock new revenue streams. Brave Software is an independent company founded in 2015 by Brendan Eich, creator of JavaScript and co-founder of Mozilla (Firefox), and Brian Bondy, formerly of Khan Academy and Mozilla.

Hey Arc users! 👋 We hope you’ll try Brave. Brave is best known for its privacy protections and ad blocking but has many other features that you’ll enjoy like: - Vertical tabs - Split view - Containers (open multiple accounts in the same window!) - Sidebar You can import your settings from Arc to Brave for an easy switch!
We've decided to sunset Arc on December 22, 2026. That's not an easy sentence to write. We spent years building Arc and celebrating each and every release along the way: we have so much pride and love for what we made alongside the Arc community. Our priority is to deliver best-in-class security for our members. Keeping a browser secure takes constant, dedicated work that is only increasing in the age of AI. Dia was built from the ground up to meet today’s security standards, so that's where our engineering and security teams will focus moving forward. We've worked to make switching to Dia as easy as possible for Arc members. Here's how: · Your passwords, bookmarks, extensions and history come over to Dia seamlessly. · Spaces, Folders, and Tab Groups are in Dia and import over with your data intact. · Dia now surpasses Arc benchmarks in stability, speed, and security. · The browser features you use in Arc are free in Dia, and the AI is optional. Thank you for using Arc, for pushing us to make it better, and for building alongside us. The team that made Arc is the same team behind Dia, and some of our most ambitious work is just ahead. We'd love for you to be there with us when it lands. Read more here: https://arc.net/

"I don’t miss Chrome as much as I expected." MakeUseOf's Varun Krishan compared Brave with Chrome and found that our browsers: - Uses less RAM - Loads pages faster - Lets you securely sync settings across devices - Allows YouTube background play on mobile - Still feels similar to Chrome so the transition was easy Full story here: https://lnkd.in/eTRBxPMu

My #BraveTogether2026 keynote demonstrating how Brave 1) makes what your agent does structurally secure; 2) makes what you tell your chatbot verifiably private. Brave principles older than AI, now built into Brave AI.

Is your browser protecting you from fingerprinting? Websites collect information on your device and browser in order to identify you and track you across the Web. TweakTown's Yasir Mahmood tested four major browsers and found that Brave was the only one that was randomizing his laptop's fingerprint to protect his privacy. Our fingerprinting protections apply whether you're using a normal or private window. You don't have to adjust any settings or use any extra extensions. Privacy is the default with Brave. https://lnkd.in/e7ymWVCz
