Asked what the biggest change in marketing departments has to be, Liz Bacelar says it's to rethink our processes and come up with opinions of our own. When the AI hype gets loud, her advice is to use your own mind. Listen to the full episode: https://lnkd.in/gg9UAxBz

Three takeaways from Jim's live conversation with Liz Bacelar at the TransUnion Marketing Solutions Summit: 1. Start with people. Liz maps each process with the people who hold the institutional knowledge. The five steps they describe usually turn out to be 50. 2. Only pilot what you'd buy. Before a pilot starts, she wants to know what it costs, how long it takes and the full path to production. Otherwise, she says, "you're just wasting time." 3. Turn your people into AI leaders. Liz trained 500 women who weren't technical to become AI executives in their own right, and they went on to train their teams. Her goal is for her own job to disappear. For most of her career in fashion and luxury, Liz Bacelar tracked what competitors like Gucci were doing. With generative AI, she says, that stopped mattering, because every company's purpose, strategy and starting point is different. "Nothing is plug and play, rinse and repeat." Liz led AI adoption at Estée Lauder and Under Armour. She joined Jim live at the TransUnion Marketing Solutions Summit. Full episode: https://lnkd.in/gg9UAxBz

Liz Bacelar has led AI adoption twice, first at The Estée Lauder Companies Inc. and then at Under Armour, and she keeps coming back to the same point: "This is all about people." In this live episode from the TransUnion Marketing Solutions Summit, Liz and Jim talk about how AI is changing marketing, what it takes to bring a team along, and why the leaders who do it well start with their people before the technology. What would people outside Cincinnati be surprised to learn about its creative scene? Three panelists from The CMO Podcast's live recording at BLINK, hosted by Hyperquake, answered. karen forgus, Chief Communications and Community Officer of the Cincinnati Reds, is struck by how original the work is. Cincinnati creatives don't always jump on trends quickly because they're trying to start them, and they put their ideas out there without worrying about scale. Melissa Washko, Chief Brand Officer of GE Aerospace, points to the murals. They tell the story of the city, and during BLINK they come to life. Phil Duncan, Chief Design Officer at Procter & Gamble, sees a creative community that honors the city's heritage and architecture while finding ways to modernize it. He also sees people who want each other to succeed and who are building a city where people want to spend their careers and raise their families. The full conversation, recorded live at BLINK in Cincinnati, is coming soon to The CMO Podcast.

If you're calling your health insurer about a chronic condition and an AI answers, does that build trust? Reagan Greene doesn't think so. At Blue Cross of Idaho, AI goes to administrative tasks so employees have more time to engage with members personally. Reagan, VP of Marketing & Experience, walks Jim through where AI fits in a category built on trust. Full episode: https://lnkd.in/gYjns_Dy
