It was a pleasure to join the Decatur-Morgan County Excellence in Leadership and EDGE Student Leadership classes during their Montgomery Drive-In this week. Robin Ricks, Executive Director of EDAA, shared an update on Alabama’s economic development landscape and encouraged these current and future leaders to remember that progress moves at the speed of relationships. From the State House to communities across Alabama, strong partnerships remain the foundation of meaningful growth. We are grateful for engaged leaders who take the time to come to Montgomery, ask thoughtful questions, and invest in understanding how policy and economic development intersect. The future of our state is bright.

Alabama’s momentum doesn’t happen by accident. The latest $15.1 million in SEEDS grant funding is helping communities across the state prepare industry-ready sites, strengthen competitiveness, and position Alabama for the next wave of high-quality job creation. SEEDS delivers real, measurable impact. Continued investment will be critical to sustaining this growth pipeline. We look forward to building on this success and supporting future funding that keeps Alabama ready to win. #EconomicDevelopment #MadeInAlabama #FundSEEDS

Henagar Industrial Park - SEEDS Grant - Update 🚧 🟢 In 2024, the Henagar Industrial Park site was awarded funding through Alabama's SEEDS initiative. Through this grant, in combination with the City’s matching dollars, the grading of a “shovel-ready” industrial site is now underway on a portion of the existing 90-acre industrial park! This project significantly improves the ability to offer prospective industry enhanced “speed to market” for their active plant location searches. New industrial development would create good-paying jobs for the region, increase revenue for local businesses, and sustain the broader community. With the support of this state grant funding, the growing rural community of Henagar, Alabama is now able to compete for industrial prospects it would otherwise not be able to attract on its own. That is the power of collaboration and partnerships! DCEDA is honored to continue partnering with the City of Henagar’s leadership on this project and others to market DeKalb County as The Proven Place for Business!
