Women aren’t risk-averse. We’re risk-aware. That line from Ellevest CEO Sylvia S. Kwan, CFA, CAIA, matches what we see every day. Our early-2026 report found that 67% of women investors plan new venture deployments in 2026, many of them in private markets for the first time. And 77% invest with a values lens. Sylvia makes a point we agree with: access to private markets isn’t the main barrier anymore. What’s missing is engagement, education, and a way to find the right opportunities. If women don’t know an opportunity exists, they can’t invest in it. We're working to close this gap by: → Helping women learn how venture works before they write their first check → Connecting investors with women-founded companies aligned with their values → Building a community of women operators ready to bring other women to the table with them $124 trillion will change hands in the U.S. by 2048, and women will inherit most of it. What matters now is where that capital goes. Read Sylvia’s full interview with Chief: https://lnkd.in/e4Ubgc2j Read our report: https://lnkd.in/eaY5FJxi

  • If you're not following Lindsey Stanberry, Alicia Adamczyk, and The Purse then you're really missing out ... 👇🏼

As founder of The Purse, I think about growth ALL THE TIME. Like, all the time. I'm always reading about hacks and tricks and advice on what moves the needle and what doesn't. The prevailing advice is that your Instagram grid doesn't matter anymore. I'm going to beg to differ. Design does matter. And our Instagram looks good. Yesterday, we published our 100th Instagram post since we relaunched in January. At the time, we had roughly 2,500 followers. Today, we have 14,000+. It's purely been organic growth. Granted 14,000 is arguably still a small audience. Playing around in the back of Meta Business, the platform argues we have a potential audience of 250,000+. I'm sure it would like me to pay to acquire some of those followers. And we will, at some point. But today, I want to celebrate our 100th post and our steadily growing audience. The success is thanks to Alicia Adamczyk and Christopher Skinner, who are creating most of our gorgeous assets that make our grid look so good. I just pick the music! (And write the captions.) If you don't follow The Purse on Instagram, you should! We're having a lot of fun and looking good while we do it. Just take a look!

Nine years ago today, I started at Ellevest. Since then, I’ve spent the majority of my professional life talking to women about money and researching how women think about it.  Here are nine things I’ve learned in that time: 1. The very first thing I wrote down in October 2017 when putting together an initial client experience was that women are trying to make a plan for their money. Today, I think they are making a plan for their lives. 2. Retirement for women is not one-size-fits-all. Most of the clients I’ve worked with define retirement as leaving their job to do something that fits their passion and values. 3. Most money questions aren’t actually about money. The questions are usually about a decision, relationship, an exciting opportunity they are considering, or even a fear they have. 4. Talking with a partner about money is hard, but you can have some real breakthroughs in your relationship if you make it a habit.  5. You can learn about money at any stage of life. I have clients who came to me in their 30s, 40s, and 50s without really knowing what a stock or bond is. (And that’s OK!) The journey of setting them up with a financial plan and helping them on the journey to understand their wealth has been so meaningful. 6. In my experience, the financial industry creates verticals for women based on one part of their life — divorcee, widow, business owner — yet all women are multi-faceted. They can be mothers, divorced, and a business owner all at the same time. Planning for just one portion of a woman's experience is missing the point. 7. Women like talking about money. Historically we haven’t had the space to do so.  8. Women aren’t just looking for a return on investment; they are looking for a return on life.  9. Modeling healthy money conversations is important for the next generation. I feel blessed that my son, Logan (and eventually my 2-year-old daughter), hears me talking about money. By doing this, I believe we can create a generation that starts to look at money differently. I’m so proud of what the team at Ellevest is building and I look forward to many, many more conversations about women’s wealth.

I recently sat down with Christina Hunt and Amy McKeel, hosts of the "What I Wish I Knew" Podcast, to talk about the sandwich generation and its impact on women's finances. We talked through what it means to be in the sandwich generation, how we can start the conversation with aging parents about their care and end of life planning, and how we can establish guardrails around our own lives to protect our finances and our personal sanity. If you are starting to think about this topic or already experiencing this life stage, this podcast episode is for you! https://lnkd.in/geuus9eB

  • Ellevest Senior Portfolio Manager Alondra Garcia, CFA®, sat down with Ellevest Chief Investment Officer Ankur Patel, CFA®, to cover the competing narratives shaping today’s headlines. 📍 What are markets saying, and what’s driving rates higher? 📍 Is it worth investing in bonds right now? 📍 How do political uncertainty and midterm elections affect markets, and should investors position around elections? 📍 With returns strong, the market more concentrated, and heavy AI-buildout enthusiasm, have stocks gone too far, and is a correction coming? Watch their full conversation here: https://lnkd.in/gsS78PSC

The sandwich generation - a place not a lot of people talk about. A place in between parenting kids and caring for parents. It's emotional to think about, but we want to get ahead of it - so we're prepared BEFORE an emergency happens. We spoke to Samantha Craig Vient, CFP® from Ellevest on the topic and realized midway through that we need to update our wills now that we have second kids 😬 Check it out: https://lnkd.in/giUqkKyy

Speaking at the #TFA35 Summit was a powerful experience. The Teach For America community *shows up.* Each person I met had incredible stories and puts everything they have into making an impact in this world. Even though I was the one sharing my experience as a wealth advisor at Ellevest, I left the weekend feeling inspired by everyone else I met! It was also great to catch a show and work IRL with Sara Faurer!!
