Retail sales rebounded in September, thanks to brisk back-to-school consumer spending. That’s one of the results revealed in this month’s Fiserv Small Business Index. Overall sales rose +2.2% YoY and +0.7% MoM, the strongest year-over-year gain since June. Retail led the rise with sales up +3.0% YoY and +1.3% MoM, matching June’s high, as transactions climbed +2.4% YoY while average tickets rose just +0.5%.
