Investing in high-growth companies that keep opportunity local.

About us

Gazelle Ventures was built around a simple belief: fast growing companies should not have to leave home to succeed. Tampa Bay has no shortage of talented founders, strong universities, and ambitious ideas. Yet for years, many of the region’s most promising startups were forced to look outside the region for early capital and long term support. Too often, that meant relocating key teams or decision making just as those companies began to create real impact. Founded by local veteran investors Ashby Green and Kim Vogel, Gazelle Ventures was created to close that gap and redefine venture capital for Tampa Bay. We invest in high growth “gazelle companies,” businesses capable of scaling quickly, creating jobs, and driving long term economic growth, while choosing to build and grow right here. Rather than encouraging companies to relocate, we help founders scale while keeping their roots in the community that made them possible. Our approach is powered by more than capital. Gazelle Ventures is backed by a network of local investors who serve as trusted advisors and subject matter experts, actively supporting portfolio companies as they grow. Through patient capital, deep ecosystem connections, and an unwavering commitment to local hiring, we’re proving that Tampa Bay companies can compete and thrive without abandoning home. The result is competitive returns for investors, high value jobs for the region, and a self sustaining innovation economy that continues to earn Tampa Bay recognition as Forbes’ #1 Emerging Tech City. We’re not just investing in companies. We’re building the long term prosperity of the place we call home.

Huge congratulations to Vik R. and the Rahm Sensor Development, Inc. team on being named 2026 Startup of the Year by Texas Tech University. Taking Doppler radar and AI out of the lab and into live installations across multiple states is the hard part of commercialization, and Rahm Sensor Development is doing it. Great example of what strong university accelerator support can produce. Gazelle Ventures

Rahm Sensor Development, Inc. is making a difference in public safety and senior care. Using sensor technology developed within the Texas Tech University System, Rahm combines Doppler radar, artificial intelligence, and computer vision to monitor individuals without requiring wearable devices or physical contact. Its two products, Cell-Guardian and Silver-Guardian, are designed to help correctional facilities and senior care providers detect potential emergencies and respond faster. With installations across multiple states, Rahm continues to expand the reach of its technology. A member of Cohort 9 of the Texas Tech Accelerator, Rahm has continued to grow with support from the Texas Tech Innovation Hub and Research Commercialization at Texas Tech. That progress is being recognized at the 9th Annual Inventor Celebration, where Rahm Sensor Development has been named 2026 Startup of the Year. Congratulations to founder Vik Ramprakash and the Rahm team on this achievement! #TexasTech #TTUResearch #InnovationHub #ResearchCommercialization #StartupOfTheYear #HealthTech #Entrepreneurship #Innovation

  • Proud to share this. We’re working with Jordan Rhoads and the team at nCore Data Management, Inc., and we’ve seen firsthand how they’re tackling one of healthcare’s most persistent problems: complex, error-prone data workflows that cost organizations time and money. On October 28, Jordan is teaming up with Ned Pope of Hivelocity, one of our favorite people in the Tampa Bay tech community, to walk through a real medical billing workflow. They’ll show how the right data processing technology, paired with dedicated infrastructure, drives measurable gains in accuracy and processing time. If you’re building in healthcare, investing in it, or running operations inside it, this is well worth an hour. 📅 October 28 | 10:00 AM PT / 1:00 PM ET 🔗 https://lnkd.in/gR5ktDi7 #GazelleVentures #HealthcareIT #HealthTech #nCore #Hivelocity

  • The most lasting part of a recognition program often happens before anyone takes the stage. Earlier this month, the 2026 Tampa Bay TITAN 100 class met for the first time at the Kickoff Reception at The Karol Hotel, and our Founder, Ashby Green, spent the evening getting to know the leaders he’ll be connected to throughout the year. Those relationships matter to us as much as the honor itself. When CEOs and executives across the region know and trust one another, the founders we back gain access to the introductions and mentorship that help their companies grow here. Thank you to Habitat for Humanity Tampa Bay Gulfside and ProVise Management Group, LLC. for presenting the evening, and to TITAN 100 for bringing this class together. We’ll see everyone at the Yuengling Center on October 22! #Titan100 #TampaBay #TampaBayBusiness #Leadership

  • The Titan 100 Awards Celebration is just over a week away at the Yuengling Center, and we are looking forward to being in that room. Ashby Green, our Founder, was named a 2026 Tampa Bay Titan 100 honoree this summer. The program recognizes 100 CEOs and C-level executives across the region for their leadership and impact, and this year's class represents companies that together employ more than 60,000 people and generate over $10 billion in annual revenue. Those of us who work alongside Ashby know this recognition fits. His career has been built on backing people and businesses in this region, and that same commitment shapes what we are building at Gazelle Ventures. We are looking forward to a night celebrating a hundred people building companies and institutions across Tampa Bay. Congratulations to the whole 2026 class! #Titan100 #TampaBay #Leadership #TampaBayBusiness

  • The most common thing we hear from people asking about the fund is some version of this: nobody ever invited me to that table, and I did not know it was something I could do. That is why our minimum is $25,000 instead of the $250,000 most funds ask for. The people reaching out have not been who anyone would predict. Career-track women. Younger millennials with time and resources who want to understand how this works. People who have built real things in Tampa Bay and assumed venture was something other people did. They also want to roll up their sleeves, which matters more to our portfolio companies than the check does. A founder who needs an introduction to the right customer is better served by someone who already knows that customer. Gazelle Ventures is raising Fund I, backing high-growth companies that commit to scaling in Tampa Bay rather than leaving it. #TampaBay #VentureCapital #Investing #Entrepreneurship #GrowthThatStays Ashby Green Kim Vogel MA, ECM Cassidy Cook

  • Funding is only half the battle. The other half is harder to provide, and it shapes how we built Gazelle Ventures. In this clip from Thrive Community Conversations, our Co-Founder Kim Vogel MA, ECM gets at what founders are really after, which is to not be alone in it. They want a team of experts in their corner, people who help them see what they do not know when they do not know it. The money matters, but the support is what moves the needle. So we wrap that support around our founders instead of writing a check and waiting on an exit. Building a company is hard enough without doing it alone. • Roughly 80% of what a company holds sits in invoices, contracts, and PDFs that no system can actually read. Before an AI model can interpret any of it, someone has to find the right field, pull it out, and verify it is correct. Most enterprises are still doing that with employees and a copy-paste workflow, or pointing a language model at it and living with accuracy Jordan Rhoads has seen land anywhere from around 96% down to 80% or lower. In regulatory, finance, health benefits, and banking, anything short of 100% does not work. Jordan and the nCore Data Management, Inc. team built ANNA to solve that at the intake layer, running CPU-native and deterministic, with no GPUs, no developers, and checksum-verified results a nontechnical employee can set up. At a global insurance brokerage, ANNA pulled and structured the requested fields from a batch of employer health-plan documents in 47 seconds. That work had been taking several employees multiple days, and those employees stayed on to interpret the data instead of copying it. Five other organizations are now testing or applying ANNA, and the underlying technology came out of government and defense work, including a NASA Mars rover project. We are proud to back nCore. This is the layer everything else in enterprise AI depends on, and Jordan is building it here in Tampa Bay 📄 Head to the comments for TBBW Magazine's full piece on nCore. #TampaBay #EnterpriseAI #DataManagement #TampaBayTech #AI #VentureCapital

  • Tampa Bay founders have spent years chasing capital based in other markets, and the price of that capital has often been moving the company to where the money lives. Each relocation takes the jobs with it, along with the future founders who would have learned their craft inside that company. The next chapter for our ecosystem depends on local ownership of the capital that builds it. When people who live here invest in companies being built here, the returns and the talent keep compounding in the same place, and that's the Tampa Bay we're investing in. #TampaBay #GrowthThatStays #VentureCapital #Founders

  • Embarc Collective has spent seven years building in Tampa without expanding anywhere else. The first place it chose to go is St. Petersburg. Blake Investment Partners committed five years of office space to make that happen, and Tim R. Holcomb Ph.D. described St. Pete as the first location where Embarc decided to plant a flag. Nearly a dozen member companies are already headquartered here, working with an organization based across the bay. They will now have a local home, along with Embarc's programming and community workshops. Thompson Whitney Blake put it plainly in the announcement, saying "St. Petersburg is no longer an emerging innovation market." The decision behind this partnership backs that up more convincingly than any ranking could. Embarc's work sits directly upstream of ours. The organization surrounds early-stage founders through the stretch where a company either finds product-market fit or does not, and the ones who make it through need capital to keep scaling. Every company that reaches that point strengthens the case for funding it here rather than watching it raise somewhere else. Congratulations to Tim Holcomb and the Embarc team, and to Blake Investment Partners for backing it! #TampaBay #StPete #StartupEcosystem #VentureCapital #GrowthThatStays
