12 months of training that pushed me to the absolute max, but ultimately led to this weekend. Eva and I (my eldest daughter) decided back in October 2025 that we would run the Great South Run 2026, and I’ve got to say, there’s absolutely no way I could’ve done this without Eva supporting me along the way. Eva always wanted to run the race in memory of Poppy Atkinson, her friend and teammate, and I think she knew it would be impossible for me to say no to, given the cause. Those who know me would say I was in the worst shape I had ever been in, and they were right, and so committing to this and 'putting it out there' meant I needed all of the 12 months to prepare myself. Eva, on the other hand, trains with her football teammates most days and plays every weekend, and so I knew she would absolutely smash it, but I on the other hand, would really need her help just to cross the finish line, and she didn't let me down! With the help of friends, family, work colleagues, customers and suppliers who have donated so generously, we have raised £1200 for the Poppy Atkinson Foundation! Thank you all so much!
