The thing I hear most from experts (and lately just people) thinking about teaching is some version of “I don’t want to sell or market.” Even the phrase “personal brand” makes some people cringe. And yet, in the same breath, everyone I speak with understands how important building your personal brand and showcasing credibility is, now more than ever. Mike Li’s approach to this is authentic and extremely data-driven. When our team first heard him describe it, we all leaned in and started taking notes. Even if you’re not interested in personal brand, most marketers, and humans, will get something out of this session. Mike spent 10+ years at Amazon, rose to GM, and led teams of up to 1,000. Less than a year ago he launched his course on Maven with a pretty small audience. Today he’s taught nearly 500 students, has a 4.9 rating, and has grown an audience of 100K+. My critique of a lot of marketing sessions I sit in on is that they feel theoretical and lofty. Mike’s approach is practical and rooted in the science behind how people actually pay attention and remember. A few teasers on what we'll dig into: - At Amazon, he made himself a rule to speak first in every meeting, and the confidence followed. He’s applied the same thing to posting. Do the thing, and belief will follow. - Post more than 2 videos on YouTube and you’ve beaten 75% of YouTubers. Post 3 and it’s 90%. - People need to see you 11 times before they remember your face. I’ve been sharing this one with instructors since our first conversation, but how he uses it in his marketing funnel is a masterclass. Wednesday, Oct 21, 12pm PT: Building a Personal Brand Without the Cringe. We’re saving lots of time at the end for questions, so bring them. RSVP here --> https://lnkd.in/gvW6AXmV.

    Founder & Executive Coach | Former Amazon L8(General Manager/Director)

I spent 10+ years at Amazon leading everything from launching new programs to global supply chain crisis management. Marketing was never part of my job, and self-promotion made me cringe. It took me years to get comfortable making my work visible. When I started my own business, I used the same principles to build an audience. A year later, I’ve taught 500+ professionals, and my Maven course holds a 4.9 rating. On Oct 21, I’m having a fireside chat about personal brand building with Kelsey Smith, VP of Expert Partnership at Maven. Whether you’re in corporate, teaching, or starting a business, building trust and marketing yourself follow the same logic. If you want to learn it, join our free session on Oct 21, 12:00–12:45pm PT. RSVP: https://lnkd.in/gvW6AXmV.

AI Evals for Engineers & PMs is now Maven's best-selling course of all time! Thank you to everyone who has chosen to learn with us. Shreya Shankar and I believe in 𝘁𝗲𝗮𝗰𝗵𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗼𝗻𝗲 𝘁𝗵𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗱𝗲𝗲𝗽𝗹𝘆. We want our students to get really good at evals, so we built a course that makes you learn through deliberate practice. Students work on the same AI agent throughout the course. They read its traces and figure out where it fails. Next, they build evaluators, then check whether those evaluators agree with their own judgment. Finally, they turn failures into tests and use those tests to see whether their changes helped. We make you sweat in the course. For example, one assignment involves reading and labeling at least 60 traces. Even though it takes time, it helps students develop their own judgment about what good looks like. The biggest value of evals is providing a tool that helps you allocate time and resources. For example, once you understand where an AI system is failing and how to measure if a change helped, you can make informed decisions on what to work on next. It also takes time to apply this stuff at work. Students can return to any future cohort at no extra cost, and keep access to the community. We want them to keep learning as they encounter new problems. Enrollment is still open for our 𝗹𝗮𝘀𝘁 𝗰𝗼𝗵𝗼𝗿𝘁 𝗼𝗳 𝟮𝟬𝟮𝟲. The first two lectures are ready to watch as soon as you enroll, so you can catch up and join us live. Learn more about the course here: https://lnkd.in/gxMsseqg

🎸 🎸 When you sing and play the chords on a guitar, your voice, rhythm, and hands have to work together. Agentic AI orchestration is similar: agents and tools each have a role, and they need to work in sync - with clear boundaries and human oversight. Orchestration gets the parts working together; governance keeps the performance under control. Ready to build those skills? CEO, Product Faculty | The faculty for AI-native operators

Becoming a Anthropic Claude Certified Architect will open up some of the biggest AI opportunities of your career. But most people still don’t know what it is, how to prepare for the exam, or how those skills translate into paid work. That changes today. We just sat down with Carmelo Iaria on Product Faculty’s Agent Zero. He passed the Professional exam on his FIRST attempt and works in enterprise AI consulting. We asked him to walk you through the certification, his preparation, and the decisions that matter when building AI for real companies. Watch the full episode: https://lnkd.in/gTQXvdj3 In this podcast, you’ll learn: 1. Foundations vs. Professional: which certification fits your experience and goals. 2. How the exam works: eligibility, registration, format, cost, and passing score. 3. What to study: architecture, agents, context engineering, RAG, MCP, evals, and security. 4. How to approach practice questions: spot the key constraint, eliminate misleading answers, and explain your decision. 5. How Carmelo prepared using a mock-exam tool he built and how you can access it free. 6. What enterprise clients need beyond a working demo: reliable integrations, permissions, evaluation, and a system their team can operate. 7. How the architect role compares with forward-deployed engineering. If you’re a PM, engineer, or consultant who wants to build AI for companies, watch this before choosing what to learn next. Use it to understand the requirements, check your eligibility, and start preparing yourself. If you’re a CEO or leader, send it to your team. Ask them to apply the lessons to something they’re building. Can they explain why they chose that model? Prove the agent works? Show which actions require human approval? That’s where learning becomes valuable. Don’t waste your weekend collecting another ten AI tools. Learn how to build something a company can trust. #AI #Claudecertifiedarchitect #exam #career

"With new LLMs, how much work is too much? When should a request be broken into multiple requirements?" Got this question in my live session on Maven this week. And my answer is the same as it was before the LLMs era. As granular as possible. The number of questions you have to answer, amount of text and code you have to review - all becomes manageable if you give it relatively small requests. If you feed it a big task, it only asks the questions it decides to ask. The rest, it assumes. The larger the request, the more room there is for assumptions. And the more code it produces, the more of those assumptions get baked in. Here is the simplest way to break things down: [user] [action] [entity] [context] Each requirement gets one user, one action and one entity. Example: "Store manager adds and edits a device type in the catalog" → two requirements: add and edit described and fed to an LLM separately. And, by the way, your dev team also appreciates granularity. Small chunks are easier to own and maintain, with or without AI. Link to the full recording in the comments.
