The best transit outcomes happen when agencies and private contractors work as true partners. That was one of the key takeaways from NATA’s panel at the American Public Transportation Association #APTAExpo earlier this week, The Upside of Private Sector Contracting for Service. As Chris Burls, Chief Strategy officer, MV Transportation and NATA board member put it, a one-sided relationship between a contractor and an agency simply doesn’t work. The real value comes when both sides lean in—sharing knowledge, ideas and expertise to deliver better service for riders and communities. It was a great conversation about what strong public-private partnerships can look like in practice, and how collaboration can help transit agencies deliver safer, more reliable and innovative service. Thanks to APTA and our panelists for a thoughtful discussion.

  • Yesterday at APTA TRANSform, MV’s Chief Strategy Officer, Chris Burls, also representing the North American Transit Alliance (NATA), joined transit leaders for a panel discussion - "The Upside of Private Sector Contracting for Service." The panel explored how strong partnerships between private contractors and transit agencies deliver safe, reliable, and cost-effective transportation solutions to the communities they serve. MV is proud to be part of conversations focused on collaboration, innovation and delivering safe, reliable transportation. Thank you to NATA and APTA for bringing industry leaders together for an important discussion about the future of public transportation.

  • Did you know? This summer, while the world was watching the FIFA World Cup, MV teams were behind the scenes supporting many of the host cities by providing safe and reliable public transit and shuttle services for World Cup fans, staff and city residents! From Los Angeles and Seattle to Atlanta and more, MV was proud to support World Cup transportation needs. Additional thanks go to the MV teams across the country who provided personnel and operational support. Most importantly, we recognize the team members who traveled from their home divisions to support operations where needed. Their willingness to help truly reflects the spirit and commitment of our MV teammates. In Atlanta, the Atlanta Police Department recognized MV for its support during the World Cup. “The Atlanta Police Department acknowledges the exemplary support provided by MV Transportation, in partnership with Georgia State University, during the FIFA World Cup events in Atlanta,” said Chata Spikes, Executive Director of Public Affairs for APD. “MV Transportation’s partnership was instrumental in the success of APD’s efforts during the event.” The success of our support during the World Cup was made possible through teamwork, collaboration, and a shared commitment to excellence. We're proud of our MV teams who made it possible!

  • Recently, our Santa Clarita division celebrated its 35th anniversary! To commemorate the occasion, the team hosted a special open house, welcoming community members to learn more about MV Transportation, tour the facility, and meet the dedicated employees who help keep local transit services running every day. The Santa Clarita transit operation has proudly served the community for 35 years, and MV Transportation is honored to have managed the contract for the past 18 years. Through our partnership with the City of Santa Clarita, we provide essential fixed-route transportation services that connect residents to jobs, schools, healthcare, and other important destinations. As we celebrate this milestone, we reflect on the division's long-standing commitment to service, innovation, and community partnership, and look forward to continuing to keep Santa Clarita moving for years to come.

We knew we were onto something special when we started reaching out to sponsors for Mobility Transformed. We expected to have to make the case. Explain the vision. Convince partners that the future of paratransit was worth investing in. Instead, something extraordinary happened. They didn’t need convincing. They said YES. And then they asked, “What more can we do? How can we help? How can we be part of this?” And WOW, have they stepped up! From transportation providers and technology innovators to vehicle manufacturers, consultants, researchers and partners from industries we haven’t traditionally invited into the paratransit conversation, the response has been nothing short of incredible. They’re not just sponsoring a conference. They’re investing in a movement. They see what we see: an industry at an inflection point, with extraordinary opportunities to rethink how we deliver service, use technology, develop leaders, measure success and build financially sustainable programs that respond to the changing needs of our communities. They want to be part of Paratransit 2.0. And they’re bringing their expertise, their networks, their innovations, their people and their enthusiasm to help make it happen. What excites me most is that our sponsors aren’t asking how prominently we can display their logos. They’re asking how they can contribute to the conversations, share what they’ve learned, challenge conventional thinking and help agencies return home with ideas they can actually implement. THAT is partnership. THAT is leadership. And THAT is how an industry transforms. To every organization that has stepped up to support Mobility Transformed: THANK YOU! Your enthusiasm has reinforced what we believed from the beginning. The appetite for meaningful change is enormous, and the people who can help make it happen are ready to get to work. We are building something much bigger than a conference. We are bringing together the people, partnerships and ideas that will shape the next generation of accessible mobility. And I cannot wait to see what happens when we all get in the same room. The future of paratransit and accessible mobility starts here! UZURV – The Adaptive TNC our Title sponsor! They stepped up before we even asked. Platinum Sponsors: MV Transportation , Onward , Transdev North America , and Trapeze Mobility on Demand Gold Sponsors: RideCo On-Demand Transit , Spare, and Transit Technologies SIlver Sponsors: iris-GmbH infrared & intelligent sensors, Lyft , Marine Tiger Technologies, SilverRide, Uber Transit, and Via Bronze Sponsors: Jackrabbit Technologies and KFH Group, Inc. Thank you for sharing our vision and helping us realize what’s possible. https://lnkd.in/gYbwhfij #MobilityTransformed2026 #Paratransit2.0 #AccessibleMobility #TransitInnovation #Partnerships #Paratransit #FutureOfTransit
