Everything else you hear about finding viral formats is noise. This is the simplest, most straightforward way to do it.
1. Direct and indirect competitors
Direct competitors: apps or companies selling the same product to the same audience, and already running mass UGC. If their format works, copy it 1:1 and swap in your product, demo and name.
Indirect competitors: anyone selling to the same audience with a different product or delivery. That includes individual service providers promoting themselves, alternative apps solving the same problem, and adjacent products your user would also buy. You can't copy their feature, so take the mechanics (hook, structure, pacing) and rebuild them around what your product actually does.
2. Viral content in your niche
Videos on topics your audience cares about that went viral without promoting anything: regular creators, not brands. The topic and format are already proven with your exact audience.
Your job is to find the point in the video where your product fits naturally, add the demo there, and keep the flow intact. If the connection feels forced, it won't work.
3. Other niches
Products in completely unrelated niches that run mass UGC at scale and clearly convert. If a mechanic works there (a hook, a ritual, a structure), switch the context to your niche and product.
Skip random viral videos that never sold anything. Otherwise the search gets way too broad. Only copy mechanics that already drive conversions.
