  • Conservation actions in the Pilbara - Experiences from rangers on the frontline 🌱 Feedback from the 2026 ALCA conference by @PKKP Ranger, Summah: "Travelling all the way from Nanutarra, where we work and down to Tassie was a massive step out of my comfort zone and especially since this was my first time ever speaking at a conference in front of so many people. I was terrified at first, but having the chance to use my voice to share what me and the other 11 Pilbara Ranger Groups do, completely changed everything. Seeing the audience realise that our work back home in the Pilbara is truly invaluable to the rest of the country made me feel incredibly valuable, respected, and proud. Knowing that our stories carry that much worth made every anxious step worth it and I would do it all over again." Thanks for representing PKKP and talking strong for the Pilbara Ranger Network Summah, Ash and Gareth! 👏

  • WE'RE INCORPORATED 🙌🎉 The Pilbara Ranger Network has incorporated as an independent not-for-profit Aboriginal Corporation and held its first board of directors meeting last week! We’re very excited to introduce our directors, pictured from left: Karen Hayes, Audrey Cosmos, Marlon Cooke and Damien Hubert. Nominated by our member organisations, our directors bring their experience together to lead the network for the whole Pilbara region. This is a significant step forward in strengthening Indigenous leadership and governance of the PRN as we work to unite and support Pilbara ranger teams by sharing knowledge, resources and opportunities to care for country and culture. Congratulations to our new board. We look forward to the journey ahead! 🌏 #PilbaraRangers #IndigenousRangers #CaringForCountry #Pilbara

  • Upcoming 2026 Pilbara Ranger Forum 🎤🌱 The Annual Ranger Forum is one of PRN's main events and is an opportunity for our network to showcase their learnings and achievements from the year to fellow ranger teams, Traditional Owners, partners and industry guests. In 2025, the Ranger Forum achieved it's largest attendance yet with over 150 rangers gathering to discuss important topics around land management in the Pilbara. These conversations support our vision of strong ranger programs and a sustainable Pilbara Ranger Sector. 📣 Network Ranger Teams: if you haven't already, make sure you register your team's attendance before registrations close this Friday! #landmanagement #network #rangers

  • A great outcome for PRN Network Members PKKP Aboriginal Corporation on their Ranger Exchange with the Laura and Melsonby Rangers! 🐊 #Pilbararangers #OnCountry #Rangerexchange

There’s no better classroom than being on Country! 🐊 Some of our team spent last week in far north Queensland, with the Laura and Melsonby Rangers—learning firsthand how culture, heritage protection, and land management come together. Taking these insights home to adapt and strengthen how we care for PKKP Country.. Grateful for the knowledge and yarns shared and the support behind this ranger exchange to happen, we hope to return the favour another day. Thanks also go out to Pilbara Ranger Network for the ranger exchange funding opportunity, and our team at home PKKP Aboriginal Corporation for always encouraging our learnings.
