DroneX 2026. Two days, one city. 🎉 A week on, the thing we keep coming back to is not only the substance of conversation but how applicably real the #BVLOS ecosystem has become. As one of our team put it, “There was a real energy at the show, constant discussions about real opportunities, and not wishful thinking.” That last part is what we keep coming back to. Anyone who has been in this industry a while remembers when uncrewed aviation was mostly a promise: demos, decks, a lot of “someday.” What we heard in London were questions about deployment, integration, certification and timelines, from people with budgets and mandates. The conversation has moved from “will this work” to “how do we make this work at scale, and by when.” It isn’t a London story, either. The same shift is showing up locally in Central New York, regionally across the Northeast, nationally as BVLOS rules open the door to real operations, and internationally, which is where we were standing last week. Different markets, same question. We didn’t get there alone. Thank you to Empire State Development for putting New York State on the floor with a full pavilion, and for the years of groundwork behind it: the #Syracuse to Rome drone corridor, and GENIUS NY, operated by CenterState NY, which gave ResilienX its start in 2019. And thank you to CenterState CEO for backing this ecosystem at home, through the INSPYRE Innovation Hub by CenterState and NUAIR, so a Central New York company can show up on an international floor with credibility. We’re now in planning mode, working through the follow-ups and deciding where to put our energy first. More soon! #UAS #UncrewedAviation #BVLOS #AdvancedAirMobility #DroneX2026 #LowAltitudeEconomy #UAS #UAV #PublicSafety #NYS Ryan Pleskach Andrew Carter

Our CEO Andrew Carter was in Michigan this week presenting on behalf of MICH-AIR and Battle Creek Unlimited about the challenges and lessons learned in implementing BVLOS ecosystems at airports. The message was well received by a packed room of airport managers and executives.
This week I was given the opportunity to present at the Michigan Association of Airport Executives- MAAE annual conference. It was a great forum to share the stage with Nate Ward of BETA TECHNOLOGIES, and (virtually) Todd Stanberry of Metro Aviation, Inc. to talk through what is coming next for airports in Michigan. I was able to walk through the work ResilienX is doing in Battle Creek, MI with Battle Creek Unlimited in setting up a #BVLOS ecosystem for scaled #UAS operations. As airports in Michigan look to both unlock and protect their low altitude airspace, Battle Creek is going to be a key proving ground for both the technology and business case, moving forward. A special thanks to Lawrence Bowron for inviting me and for moderating the panel! #DroneTie

Please join us in welcoming Radhika Bhopatkar to the ResilienX team as a Research Engineer! Radhika comes to us fresh off completing her Ph.D. at Purdue University, where her research focused on something we care deeply about here: understanding how remote operators perform in complex, multi-aircraft #BVLOS operations, and challenging the assumption that humans are the weak link in the system. (The title of her dissertation says it well: "Humans Are Not Always the Source of Errors.") Her expertise sits right at the intersection of systems engineering, aviation safety, and human factors. She's contributed to NASA's RAM-AO working groups and multiple ASTM standards efforts, including work on In-Time Aviation Safety Management System (#IASMS) functionality and human factors standards for #UAS ground control stations. She's also a Federal Aviation Administration Part 107 Remote Pilot, with prior research supporting FAA BVLOS efforts on evaluating operator workload and defining safe operational procedures. In short: Radhika has spent years asking exactly the kinds of questions that drive our mission to make advanced, autonomous aviation safe and scalable. We're thrilled to have her helping shape what comes next. Welcome aboard, Radhika! #WelcomeToTheTeam #AviationSafety #HumanFactors #AdvancedAirMobility #ResilienX

[PRESS RELEASE] When a wildfire hits, the uncrewed aircraft that could help are often flying blind to one another. Fragmented, single-platform operations and manual coordination cost responders the one thing they can't spare: time. We're proud to share that ResilienX has been selected for a NASA - National Aeronautics and Space Administration Small Business Innovation Research (SBIR) Phase II award to advance ORION, our On-Demand Regional Intelligent Operations Network. Over the next 18 months, we'll mature ORION into a system that coordinates autonomous and semi-autonomous drones during wildfire response, disaster management, and emergency operations, giving incident commanders a single shared picture of the airspace and the data they need to make faster, better-informed decisions. This is a team effort. Grateful to our partners NUAIR, Vigilare AI, LLC, Pierce Aerospace, OneSky systems, and Hoplynk, and to the NASA - National Aeronautics and Space Administration team supporting the work, with operational demonstrations to come next year. It's the kind of work that helps regions unlock their low-altitude economy, and helps the people who protect our communities. Last week, the 110th Wing of the Michigan Air National Guard in Battle Creek conducted a combat readiness exercise simulating a drone incursion on base. The three-day exercise was part of Northern Strike 26-2, one of the nation’s largest joint reserve readiness exercises, bringing together thousands of service members to train in realistic, complex scenarios. As part of the exercise, members of Michigan’s Civil Air Patrol flew drones around the installation while 110th Wing personnel trained to identify, assess and respond to UAS activity. During the exercise, Airmen tried out the beyond visual line of sight (BVLOS) system which Battle Creek Unlimited is developing as part of its MICH-AIR initiative at the Battle Creek Executive Airport (BTL). Led by Syracuse-based ResilienX, this system integrates radar, ADS-B and Remote ID sensors to provide the airspace awareness and safety infrastructure needed to support remote and autonomous aircraft operations. The exercise demonstrated another important potential application: using advanced airspace technology to help monitor and manage drone activity in complex environments. It also highlighted what makes MICH-AIR unique — the opportunity to develop advanced aviation infrastructure in partnership with industry, government and the military, while creating capabilities that can support both commercial innovation and national security. Battle Creek is building the infrastructure for the future of aviation — and that future is already taking flight. Check out footage from the exercise here: https://lnkd.in/gNn-bh99

We are excited to welcome Matt Manning to the ResilienX team! For Matt, this is more than a new position. It is the continuation of a story that began at the very start of ResilienX. Matt was one of our original co-founders and helped shape the ideas and technical foundation behind the company. However, until now, he had never formally worked as a member of the ResilienX team. We are thrilled that the timing is finally right for him to join us day to day. Matt brings nearly 15 years of engineering experience spanning defense, aerospace, uncrewed aircraft systems, and advanced airspace technologies. Throughout his career, he has built deep expertise in complex system-of-systems engineering, airspace surveillance, technology deployment, testing, and UAS integration. Just as importantly, Matt brings a practical understanding of how sophisticated technologies move from concept and design into real-world operations. His technical knowledge, field experience, and familiarity with the challenges ResilienX was created to solve will make him an immediate asset to our team and our customers. It is not every day that you get to welcome an original co-founder as a new hire. Welcome to the team, Matt. It is great to finally have you officially aboard! #ResilienX #NewHire #TeamResilienX #Aerospace #UAS #AdvancedAirMobility #SystemsEngineering

ResilienX Wins AFWERX SBIR Phase I for Explainable AI Model-Health Monitoring! New effort advances real-time model health monitoring and explainable AI in support of trusted autonomy for the Department of the Air Force. (Syracuse, New York) – ResilienX announces it has been selected by AFWERX for a Small Business Innovation Research (SBIR) Phase I contract focused on explainable AI agents for real-time model health monitoring in uncrewed aircraft system (UAS) ecosystems to address a pressing challenge in the United States Department of the Air Force (DAF). The effort is sponsored by AFWERX, a component of the Air Force Research Laboratory (AFRL), through the Open Topic SBIR/STTR program. The award was made on June 30, 2026. Modern autonomous systems increasingly rely on machine learning models whose behavior can change once they leave the lab and meet real-world conditions. As sensors, environments, and mission inputs shift in ways a model never saw during testing, that model can begin producing unreliable results with no outward sign that anything is wrong, leaving operators unable to tell a sound AI decision from a failing one. Through the Phase I effort, ResilienX will demonstrate how its #FRAIHMWORK platform continuously tracks the health of deployed models, watching for early signs that a model’s performance is slipping and alerting operators before a quiet failure can affect a mission. When the platform flags a questionable result, it also delivers a clear, plain-language explanation of the reasoning behind it, so the people who depend on the AI understand what it is doing and can act with justified confidence rather than blind trust. “Operators are being asked to trust AI they cannot see inside,” said Matthew Synborski , Chief Technology Officer of ResilienX. “This effort puts real-time model health and plain-language explanations directly in front of the people who depend on these systems, so the Air Force can field autonomy with confidence rather than doubt.” During Phase I, ResilienX will validate this approach with Department of the Air Force stakeholders and lay the groundwork for broader model-assurance applications across defense and government missions where reliable, understandable AI is essential. Battle Creek’s Beyond Visual Line of Sight (BVLOS) system took another big step this week. On Tuesday, radars were installed atop the DoubleTree Hotel in downtown Battle Creek. On Wednesday, we partnered with the Civil Air Patrol’s Battle Creek squadron to map out the radar coverage area and fine-tune the system. The next step is going through the FAA's Near-Term Approval Process (NTAP), which expedites third-party service provider approvals like Unmanned Aircraft System Traffic Management (UTM) services. Once that is complete, remote and autonomous aircraft will be able to operate at the Battle Creek Executive Airport (BTL). The next step is the FAA’s Near-Term Approval Process (NTAP). Upon final authorization, the Battle Creek Executive Airport (BTL) will be positioned to support commercial remote and autonomous aircraft operations. Big thanks to the Civil Air Patrol and Echodyne teams for their help. Stay tuned as we continue building the infrastructure that will enable the future of flight and for further updates on MICH-AIR. #battlecreek #bvlos #airmobility #autonomousaircraft #michigan
