The vision behind Statsig is simple: We want to help you increase your rate of learning. Here's what we shipped in September to make this possible: - MCP v3 - a completely rebuilt version of our MCP - Agent experimentation - understand causal impact of changes to agentic features - Statbot - our in console agent that makes experimenting easier - Stale management for dynamic configs Find out more here: https://lnkd.in/gMJjRzR6

We’re thrilled to welcome Vijaye Raji to the Amplitude Board of Directors! Currently CTO of Applications at OpenAI, Vijaye was the founder and former CEO of Statsig, which Amplitude took on in May of this year. Vijaye brings a wealth of experience in experimentation and data-driven decisions to the Amplitude board. Inspired by his work with Meta’s internal tools, including its Deltoid experimentation platform, Vijaye started Statsig in 2021 to make sophisticated measurement tools accessible to developers, data scientists, and product managers everywhere. At OpenAI, he leads Ads, Growth, and foundational data and engineering components. Vijaye now joins our board to continue Amplitude and Statsig’s mission to help teams understand customer behavior, experiment with confidence, and build better products. Welcome, Vijaye!

Who gets to shape the future of AI? We asked builders from OpenHands, Inferact, bolt.new, Amplitude, and Arcee AI what open intelligence means to them. Today they’re among more than 25 speakers at the first Open Intelligence Summit in San Francisco, co-hosted by DigitalOcean and NVIDIA, with the keynote streaming live at 1 PM PT. Paddy Srinivasan opens with the case for keeping the AI stack open. He’s joined on stage by DigitalOcean CPTO Vinay Kumar, with a live demo of turning an agent’s production runs into tested fixes; NVIDIA’s Adel El Hallak on open models and tools for agents; Amplitude CEO Spenser Skates on what changes when a data company’s users become agents; and Bright Data CEO Or Lenchner on giving agents the live web. Also new today: Bright Data’s search, scraping and datasets are available to agents on DigitalOcean through Action Gateway. The afternoon is built around the questions open AI teams are arguing about: where open formats actually protect you from lock-in, whether teams will run more models or fewer a year from now, when it’s worth post-training an open model, and whether you can run serious agents without depending on one model provider. Speakers include NVIDIA, Hugging Face, Nous Research, Inferact, VAST Data, Liquid AI, MiniMax, LanceDB, bolt.new, Daytona and more. The livestream links are in the comments.

🔵 One of the best parts of spending this week at Amplitude HQ in San Francisco was getting the Statsig Data Science team in the same room. The week was filled with technical conversations, customer stories, and practical discussions about what it takes to make experimentation work at enterprise scale. I’ll save some of the details for another post. For now, I want to highlight the people behind the work. Every one of these data scientists has worked on and solved enterprise-scale challenges. Together, they bring research depth, experimentation judgment, customer context, and production engineering experience to Statsig. With Vivian Magida leading the customer-facing team, these data scientists help organizations think through experimentation in practice while also helping identify and shape new Statsig capabilities. Matthew Rogers - Apple .com experiments Elaine (Yue) Li - Peacock, acquisition, monetization, and retention experimentation Sunita Verma - Zalora, FairPrice, and H&M, experimentation in retail at scale Gonzalo Isla Treleani - Meta, experimentation under network and privacy constraints And on the team building statistical methods into production: Zijin(Carson) Chen - LinkedIn, enterprise experimentation at scale Shreya Prakash - Amazon, bringing fresh eyes to experimentation Nikhil Shaganti - Walmart, practical statistics for complex businesses Akhil Prakash - Amplitude’s experimentation brain Collectively, there must be atleast 50+ years of experience dealing with experimentation challenges and solving with stats methods and reinforcing good culture. What makes this group special is the feedback loop between research, real-world experimentation, customer problems, and production software. It is rare to find all of those perspectives in one team, and I’m grateful to be working alongside them. If you are not already connected with them then do so now!!

More and more product work now happens inside coding agents, and that changes how we should build the tools those agents use. This week we shipped a rebuilt Statsig MCP, shaped by what we heard from customers as their usage took off: they hit gaps in what the tools could do, their agents struggled to pick the right tool from a big catalog, and they couldn't safely give an agent write access. We moved to a small core toolset with everything else loaded on demand, which cut input tokens by about 43%. The biggest change is granular permissions: before, write access was all-or-nothing for a whole project, so many teams turned writes off and kept making production changes by hand, and now they can let specific people and their agents make changes while everyone else stays read-only. If you're building for agents (or with agents) too, I wrote up what we changed and why: https://lnkd.in/gpNe68qv
