Great to have been part of this discussion in Brussels 🇪🇺 We shared our journey from a small indie project in Berlin to a sustainable, bootstrapped company serving users around the world and discussed what Europe can do to help companies build here, stay here, and scale globally from here. Thanks to The Lisbon Council for having us!
Startups are built to grow fast. They are born to scale. Yet too few European ones make that leap. Is there something holding them back? To answer this important question by bridging the gap between those building innovative businesses and those shaping the rules they operate under, The Lisbon Council convened the High-Level Roundtable on ‘Born to Scale: How the App Economy Drives Business, Competitiveness and Regional Growth.’ 👨🏼💻Frederik Riedel, founder of one sec app; and Kevin Kimmig, chief marketing officer, Structured app, brought the entrepreneur perspective, sharing first-hand experiences of building and scaling their apps in Europe. Bringing the European policy perspective to the discussion were, among others, Aura Salla, member of the European Parliament (EPP, Finland); and Jean-Sébastien Robert, head of the app ecosystem sector, directorate-general for communications networks, content and technology, European Commission. Michael Mandel, president and chief economist of the Progressive Policy Institute (PPI), opened the session by presenting the latest data on the European app economy. Other high-level participants included Mark Boris Andrijanič, member of the governing board, European Institute of Innovation and Technology (EIT); Sara Calligaris, senior economist, Organisation for Economic Co-operation and Development (OECD); Chiara Frencia, secretary general, Startup Europe Regions Network (SERN); Alain Heureux, serial entrepreneur and business angel; Anna Krzyzanowska, adviser to the task force on startups and scaleups, European Commission; and Robin Wauters, chief operating officer and board member, European Startup Network (ESN). With the Apple keynote tonight, it felt like a good time to share a little preview of what we’ve been working on 👇 Since Siri AI won’t be available in the EU at launch, we’ve actually spent some time outside the EU over the past month to build and test all of this. In Structured, Siri AI will be able to create, edit and interact with your tasks — and even understand what’s currently on your screen. We’re bringing similar interactions to Awake, too. And Siri AI isn’t the only smart feature we’ve been working on. There’s more coming with iOS 27 — including in the EU 😉✨ Here’s a first look at what we’ve built 👇

Discover what’s next: The biggest updates from WWDC26 Structured had the honor of joining Apple’s post-WWDC26 event as part of the guest sessions, alongside MindNode and Art of Fauna. The day was all about exploring what’s new for iOS 27, sharing insights from the developer community, and looking ahead at the features and experiences that will shape the next generation of apps. It was inspiring to connect with Apple and fellow developers, exchange ideas, and celebrate the work happening across the ecosystem. A big thank you to Apple for creating such a valuable space for learning, connection, and inspiration. Excited for what’s next.
