Addition brings a 6,500-ton open-die forging press and decades of forging expertise to the STS Metals family.   STS Metals is proud to welcome STS Forged Products to the STS Metals family, adding a 6,500-ton open-die forging press that significantly expands the scale and range of forging capabilities available to our customers.   The 6,500-ton press is capable of producing open-die forgings weighing up to 30 tons and measuring up to 125 inches in outside diameter and length, giving STS Metals the ability to support substantially larger and more demanding forged products.   “Bringing such a large open-die press into the STS Metals family is a major expansion of what we can offer our customers,” said David Beddome, Chief Executive Officer of STS Metals. “STS Forged Products combines that scale with decades of technical expertise, a strong reputation for reliability and a proven ability to solve difficult manufacturing challenges. This capability creates exciting opportunities across our existing markets while also expanding our reach into Oil & Gas, energy, and heavy industrial applications.”   Forged Products brings experience working with titanium, nickel alloys, stainless steels, alloy steels and carbon steels, supported by capabilities in heat treatment, machining and non-destructive testing, along with AS9100 and ISO quality certifications.   The addition of Forged Products expands the STS Metals manufacturing footprint into the Houston and Gulf Coast region and adds valuable experience in the Oil & Gas, energy and heavy industrial markets. Together, STS Metals and Forged Products will build on a shared commitment to technical excellence, responsiveness, and solving customers’ most demanding manufacturing challenges.   𝗕𝘂𝗶𝗹𝘁 𝗼𝗻 𝘁𝗿𝘂𝘀𝘁, 𝗱𝗲𝗹𝗶𝘃𝗲𝗿𝗲𝗱 𝘄𝗶𝘁𝗵 𝗶𝗻𝘁𝗲𝗴𝗿𝗶𝘁𝘆.

🚀 Major Milestone Achieved 🚀 TSI Titanium has officially earned NADCAP certification for our in-house Ultrasonic Inspection (USI) line. Effective immediately, we can internally test and certify titanium round bar from 0.500” to 5.000” diameter—enhancing quality, reducing lead times, and strengthening delivery performance for our customers. Another important step forward in expanding our vertically integrated titanium capabilities and delivering the reliability our customers count on. Built with trust. Delivered with integrity. • The titanium supply chain is getting tighter. The companies that control their own production will be the last ones standing. Here's what's happening in titanium right now. Western aerospace OEMs are actively reducing their dependence on Russian sources. China produces roughly two-thirds of the world's titanium sponge, but most of it doesn't meet Western aerospace specifications. And the U.S. imports more than 95% of its titanium sponge needs. Meanwhile, Boeing and Airbus are ramping production to levels we haven't seen before. Combined deliveries are projected to approach 1,750 aircraft in 2026. Defense spending globally is expected to top $2.6 trillion this year. The F-35 program just delivered a record 191 aircraft in 2025. All of those programs consume titanium. Lots of it. In a market like this, the gap between manufacturers gets very wide, very fast. A manufacturer can choose to add shifts, prioritize orders, and adjust production schedules. We are that manufacturer! We follow these trends closely at STS Metals. Not because it makes for interesting reading, but because our customers count on us to connect the dots between what's happening globally and what it means for their next purchase order. If we see tightening in the market or shifts in OEM procurement strategy, our customers hear about it from us before they feel it in their lead times. That's what it means to be a manufacturing partner, not just a supplier.  When lead times matter most, talk to a manufacturer. • Your supplier quoted you 20 weeks. You need it in 2. What happens next says everything. Most raw material buyers in the aerospace and defense arena have been in this spot. You have a production commitment, a customer deadline, or unexpected production fallout with a material lead time that doesn't care about the reason. The standard answer from most suppliers is some version of "we'll do our best." Which really means they're getting in line at a mill alongside everyone else and hoping the schedule holds. That's the reality when your supplier doesn't control production. They're placing orders on your behalf and managing expectations instead of managing output. At STS Metals, we control our own production schedule. We manufacture titanium, nickel, and stainless-steel products across our own facilities. When a customer needs material faster, we don't make a phone call to someone else's mill, we adjust our own queue. We also pay close attention to what's happening in the broader market so our customers don't have to piece it together themselves. When lead times shift across the industry, when raw material availability tightens, or when production ramp-ups at the OEM level start putting pressure on the supply base, we're already tracking it. And we're already talking to our customers about what it means for their programs. That's the difference between a supplier that reacts and one that prepares. We take pride in being the second one. If your current supplier can't tell you exactly where your order is on the production floor, we should talk. #Aerospace #Manufacturing #Titanium #SupplyChain #LeadTimes #SpecialtyMetals #Defense #MadeInUSA

  • Large OEMs extend long-term titanium agreements with manufacturers. There's a reason for that. In September 2025, STS Metals and Boeing extended a long-term supply agreement covering titanium billet, bar, and plate to support production of parts across their commercial airplane portfolio. That kind of agreement doesn't happen by accident. It doesn't happen because you have good pricing. And it definitely doesn't happen if you're just reselling someone else's material. Boeing needs suppliers who can demonstrate manufacturing control, process traceability, and the capacity to support production ramp-ups that are already underway. The 737 MAX alone has nearly 5,000 unfilled orders. The 787 Dreamliner is a titanium heavy airframe with an increasing build rate. The demand curve is steep and getting steeper. When an OEM of that scale looks at its titanium supply base, the question isn't just "can you deliver?" It's "can you prove you made it, and can you make more of it when we need you to?" We manufacture titanium, nickel, stainless steel and super alloy products across multiple facilities, with recent capacity expansions in place at all of the operations. That's not marketing language. That came straight from the press release. At STS Metals, we stay close to what's happening in the commercial aerospace production cycle because our customers' programs depend on it. We're not just filling orders. We're watching the same production forecasts, tracking the same ramp-up timelines, and making capacity decisions based on where the market is headed. That way, when our customers need more material, the capacity is already there. 90% of what we do is manufacturing. The other 10% is making sure you never have to think about the first 90%. There's a perception in the specialty metals space that companies like ours are distributors with a warehouse and a phone. That we buy material from someone else, mark it up, and ship it out. We hear it more than you'd think. And it tells us we have to be relentless in demonstrating to people what actually happens inside our operations. STS Metals is a manufacturer. Full stop. We operate equipment such as forging presses, rolling mills, wire drawing lines, heat treating furnaces, ultrasonic inspection lines and an assortment of finishing processes. Our various facilities manufacture bar, billet, plate, sheet, coil, and wire in titanium, nickel, stainless steel and other super alloys for aerospace, defense, and medical applications. We don't source your order from another mill and slap our name on the paperwork. We make the product. We control the process. We own the quality from start to finish. Why does this matter to you? Because when you work with a manufacturer, your lead time is a function of our capacity and you are working directly with the source. When you work with a distributor, your lead time is a function of someone else's capacity, plus transit time, plus their own processing queue. That distinction might seem subtle when everything is running smoothly. It becomes very obvious when it isn't. And part of our job is making sure we see those disruptions coming before our customers feel them. We track what's happening across the titanium market, the aerospace production cycle, and the defense procurement landscape so we can give our customers a heads-up, not an excuse.
