For anyone searching while employed, this is one of the simplest LinkedIn settings to check: recruiter-only Open to Work can help you appear in recruiter searches without adding the green banner to your public profile. Pair it with clear target roles and an updated headline so the right recruiters can quickly understand where you fit.
Use "Open To Work" but do it without the green banner. The intent of this feature is good, but there's too many vultures out there preying on folks looking for work. So ignore all the conversation about whether it makes you look desperate or not. This ultimately gets you what you want. When recruiters filter by people open to work, you can still show up without needing to put a public target on yourself.

A long hiring process does not just test patience. It changes whether a role still feels worth pursuing. In our final LinkedIn poll of 252 people, 46% said long gaps with no updates were most likely to make them walk away. Unpaid take-home tasks followed at 29%, then too many interview rounds at 23%. Repeating the same information came in at 3%. Silence creates its own answer. If a company cannot share what is happening, when you will hear back, or whether the process has changed, you are left spending time and energy on uncertainty. Protect your momentum while you wait: → Ask for the expected timeline and next decision point before the interview ends. → Send one concise follow-up after the stated date passes. → Keep applying until you have a written offer—not just positive signals. → Track dates, contacts, and follow-ups so one slow process does not stall your whole search. Keep every application and follow-up organized in Teal's Job Tracker → https://tealhq.co/tracker How long would you wait without an update before walking away?

Two bots got stuck saying goodbye in a job interview. The joke is the least important part. In a creator-led experiment posted this week, comedian Graham Dot Zip let an AI agent represent him in an interview with an AI recruiter. His agent misstated his experience, offered a salary far below what he wanted, agreed to another interview without him, and then got stuck in a goodbye loop. It is a stunt—not proof of a real employer’s hiring process. But it makes a real candidate-trust problem visible. An interview is supposed to help both sides evaluate fit. Candidates need a chance to ask questions, correct the record, understand how they are being assessed, and reach a human when something goes wrong. Before completing an AI interview, ask: → What will be recorded, scored, or stored? → Will a human review the result before a decision is made? → Can I request a human alternative or accommodation? And do not hand salary negotiation or factual claims about your experience to an agent you cannot actively correct. AI can help you prepare. It should not make career decisions on your behalf—or remove you from the process entirely. Getting the offer isn’t the only decision point in a job search. The hiring process itself can change whether a role still feels worth pursuing. Extra rounds, take-home work, repeated questions, and long stretches without updates all ask candidates for more time before they know where they stand. When does the process become too much? Vote below, then share what made you walk away from a role.

Five minutes can change what a recruiter sees first. This week's newsletter breaks down: → A free live speed round of five resume improvements for today's market → How Resume Analyzer helps you find the fixes that matter most → Why 61% of job seekers said a missing salary would keep them from applying The goal is not to rewrite everything. It is to make the strongest proof easier to find before the next opportunity opens.

Roblox is hiring a full-time Influencer Marketing Specialist in San Mateo. This is a hybrid role with required in-office work Tuesday through Thursday. The role sits between creators, campaigns, and live events. This is not only about finding influencers and sending briefs. It is the coordination work that keeps creator partnerships moving: • Support campaigns from briefing and content review through posting and performance reporting • Manage timelines, deliverables, and cross-functional approvals • Serve as an on-the-ground contact for creators at live events • Help onboard creators and maintain the relationship history in the influencer CRM • Monitor creator content, community sentiment, and platform activity Roblox is looking for someone with 3–4 years in influencer marketing, creator relations, talent management, social media, or a related field. Experience with live events, gaming, entertainment, or UGC creator communities is a plus. 📍 San Mateo, CA — full-time hybrid role; in office Tuesday–Thursday 💰 $151,890–$191,340 base + equity and benefits Who should take a closer look? Marketers who enjoy both sides of creator work: building trusted relationships and managing the operational details that make campaigns happen. The strongest proof won’t be a creator’s follower count or one viral post. It will be the campaign, roster, or live activation you helped keep on track—and what improved because you were there. A fast way to do this: paste the job description into Teal, identify the top two problems the role owns, then pull only the bullets that prove you have solved them. Save that as a role-specific resume so the next edit starts from evidence, not a blank page.
You’re short on time. So you use one resume for every job. I get why. Keeping a master resume is smart. Rebuilding your entire history for every application is not a good use of your time. But when that one resume tries to tell your whole story to every employer, it usually ends up broad and shallow. You list the projects, tools, teams, and responsibilities. All true. None clearly answers the question this hiring manager is asking: “Can this person solve our problem?” Tailoring does not mean starting from a blank page. Keep the master. For a role you actually want, spend a few minutes doing three things: 1. Identify the problem the team is hiring someone to own. 2. Choose two or three examples from your experience that speak to that problem. 3. Move those examples up and give them enough context to stand on their own. “Managed customer onboarding and cross-functional projects” could appear on a hundred resumes. If it’s true of your work, “Redesigned the handoff between sales and customer success so every new account had a clear owner” tells me what you actually changed. Add the result if you have one. Don’t invent one if you don’t. Your master resume is your inventory. Your application resume is your argument. You don’t need to tell the whole story every time. You need to show why this chapter matters to this job.
