  • Two-Spirit people have always been here under many names and understandings. 🧡 Across Indigenous nations, folks with diverse genders, sexualities, expressions, and roles have always been an integral part of their communities. The term Two-Spirit is a modern reflection of the communities and traditions it speaks to. Colonization attempted to erase Two-Spirit identities, languages, traditions, and ways of understanding gender and community. Yet, Indigenous nations have continued to reclaim, create, and prosper. Two-Spirit young people continue to prosper, too. Our research shows that Indigenous LGBTQ+ young people are navigating significant mental health challenges due to stigma and discrimination but that support makes a life-saving difference. Family support and having your identity respected can be protective factors. For non-Native folks, allyship looks like listening, learning, and respecting Indigenous nations. It means respecting Indigenous sovereignty: the right of Native nations to self-govern, the right to cultural freedom. It means supporting Indigenous-led communities and Two-Spirit societies within your region. It’s challenging anti-Indigeneity, including racism, homophobia, and transphobia that targets Indigenous people, particularly Two-Spirit people. It’s making space for Two-Spirit folks to define themselves on their own terms. As Chiricahua Apache, Guamares Indian and Aztec artist and Indigenous trans rights activist Marcy Angeles says, “Being Two Spirit is being bestowed with the gift of sight and feeling. Two Spirits have the gift of seeing from both a male and female perspective and so in many cases it is easier to see into others as we can see into ourselves.” This Indigenous Peoples’ Day, we honor the resilience, joy, cultures, and futures of Two-Spirit folks everywhere. Because at The Trevor Project, we’re always here, and always moving forward. If you need support, we’re always here, 24/7, free and secure. 🧡 Call us at 1-866-488-7386, text ‘START’ to 678-678, or visit https://lnkd.in/eXM2jsXH to speak to a trained counselor right now.

  • Taking care of your mental health isn’t always easy. Sometimes, knowing where to start can feel like a challenge in itself. This World Mental Health Day, remember: You don’t have to wait until things feel unbearable to ask for help. You don’t have to prove that you’re struggling enough to deserve support. Whether you’re feeling overwhelmed, having a hard time getting through the day, feeling sad, or just not feeling like yourself lately, you deserve support. Your struggles will never seem too big or too small to us. If you need someone to talk to, The Trevor Project is always here, 24/7, free and secure. 🧡 Call us at 1-866-488-7386, text ‘START’ to 678-678, or visit https://lnkd.in/eXM2jsXH to speak to a trained counselor right now. • We’re so proud to name Zara Larsson as our 2026 Mental Health Champion of the Year! 🧡 For years, Zara has used her voice and her platform to advocate for LGBTQ+ rights, speak openly about mental health, champion trans people, and create space for everyone to exist, unapologetically, exactly as they are. Sometimes, the most powerful thing you can tell a young person is: You belong. You’re seen. You don’t have to hide who you are because you’re safe here. You’re not alone. The spaces that Zara creates foster that same message. Our Mental Health Champion of the Year Award has previously gone to incredible folks like Megan Thee Stallion, Dua Lipa, and Dylan Mulvaney. Every year, we name someone who has championed LGBTQ+ young people and started meaningful mental health conversations to move the needle towards a more accepting and compassionate world. Zara, thank you for always showing up with honesty, conviction, joy, and a whole lot of talent! As we head into World Mental Health Day tomorrow, help us celebrate Zara by dropping a 🧡 in the comments and sharing this post to spread the love. No estás solx. #CampeonaSaludMental

  • The fight for LGBTQ+ young people to live authentically and safely is far from over. One year later, Chiles v. Salazar remains an important reminder that the legal battles surrounding conversion therapy and the rights of LGBTQ+ young people have real consequences for their lives and their futures. Every young person deserves to be met with acceptance and care, never pressure to change who they are. No Supreme Court ruling can change or legislate that truth. No legal battle changes our commitment to showing up for queer and trans young people. 🏳️🌈🏳️⚧️ At The Trevor Project, we’ll continue advocating for a world where every young person can be themselves and know they belong. 🧡 If you need support, we’re always here, 24/7, free and secure. Call us at 1-866-488-7386, text ‘START’ to 678-678, or visit https://lnkd.in/eXM2jsXH to speak to a trained counselor right now.

  • Bullying is more than what is portrayed on TV or in the media. In many ways, it can be worse. From cyberbullying and online harassment to physical violence, discrimination, verbal harassment, rumors, slurs, and tormenting…identity-based bullying can have far-reaching and long-lasting consequences. This National Bullying Prevention Month, we’re here with a reminder that bullying is a culture we create, and we are collectively responsible for preventing. The numbers are clear: LGBTQ+ youth who reported being bullied had 3x greater odds of attempting suicide than those who were not bullied, according to our 2025 survey. Bullying prevention is suicide prevention. This month and every day, let’s move beyond ‘kindness’ and show up in real, meaningful ways for LGBTQ+ young people. That means building spaces where bullying has no room to flourish, and where queer and trans youth can do more than just survive. 🏳️🌈🏳️⚧️

  • This LGBTQ+ History Month, we’re honoring the people who made space for us, and continuing to make space for those who come next. Every generation inherits the courage, creativity, community, and hard-won progress of the folks who came before. Every generation has the opportunity to carry that work forward. LGBTQ+ young people: Your story is a part of the fabric of our history. Your joys. Your voices. Your existence. Your futures. Every day, LGBTQ+ history is being written (and lived) out loud. At The Trevor Project, honoring our history means we’re always here, and we’re always moving forward. 🧡

  • Breaking: The 988 Lifeline’s “Press 3” services for LGBTQ+ young people are back.. Swipe to read our full response. Thank you to the bipartisan coalition of lawmakers and mental health advocates who fought tirelessly for this 988 Press 3 restoration. Care should always be accessible for young people, whoever they are, whenever they need it. 🧡

  • This month, we’ve been asking what suicide prevention looks like. The answer is: It’s all of us. Suicide prevention looks like checking in. It looks like listening. It looks like staying through hard conversations. It looks like making room for joy. Suicide prevention looks like building communities where people are known, loved, supported, and free to imagine a future for themselves. Suicide prevention is not passive. It is not exclusive to crisis lifelines and emergency rooms. We can’t forget that it also looks like creating schools, families, friendships, and communities where LGBTQ+ young people feel valued and welcome. 🧡 Suicide prevention is about the world we build in every moment before a crisis. It’s our collective responsibility to build a world where people feel connected and seen. A world where everyone can imagine tomorrow. If you’re reading this, be the person who reaches out and listens. Be the person who reminds someone: There is still so much more life ahead. If you or someone you know is struggling or thinking about suicide, The Trevor Project is available to support you 24/7/365, free and secure. Call 1-866-488-386, text ‘START’ to 678-678 or visit trvr.org/Help to connect to a trained counselor right now. We’re thinking of you. 🧡

  • Breaking: California enacts a new law, SB 934, to strengthen protections against conversion therapy for California’s LGBTQ+ residents. SB 934 was crafted in response to the Supreme Court’s decision in Chiles v. Salazar, and will ensure LGBTQ+ Californians are protected for decades to come. We are grateful for the advocates and lawmakers in California who have championed this legislation, and we look forward to additional states taking action to safeguard LGBTQ+ young people against these harmful practices. 🧡 #EndConversionTherapy
