I love what y’all are doing. I was the typical victim of the opioid crisis after fracturing my neck at 12 years old. I was a teen mom, did anything I could get my hands on, been to prison five times and was in an extremely violent and abusive marriage. I have turned my pain into purpose and now work as a certified PRSS at The Empowerment Center. I can’t wait until January so that I can support your new podcast.
If you ever want someone to share about MOUD ,medications for opioid use disorders, I’d love to.
I am happy to share my story.

Hi Hunter, I’d love to be considered as a guest. I’m coming up on five years sober after serving three prison sentences totaling twelve years, along with multiple jail stints and rehabs. I’ve also lost my mother, two brothers, and several friends to overdoses—experiences that shaped my commitment to recovery and advocacy. Since rebuilding my life, I’ve earned my CCC in Addiction Studies, my AS in Psychology, and I’m now pursuing my bachelor’s degree. I’m also a Mark Garwood Foundation scholarship recipient, which supports students in long-term recovery. My journey is about turning pain into purpose, and I’d be honored to share it if it can offer hope or perspective to your audience.
Hunter, I love what you’re doing. My work focuses on a side of recovery that often gets overlooked. The healing that happens around a shared meal. I wrote "Healing with Food" to bring those stories forward. If you're looking for a fresh angle on recovery, I’d be honored to join you. More about my work: ChefJosephGoldman.com.
Hunter Smith I'd love to be considered to speak on your podcast, although my focus might be a little outside of your brief. I bring lived and professional experience - being a child of a parent with heroin addiction and have spent the last 3 decades advocating and supporting the rights of young people - in the child/youth/family protection, community and health space. I have written a few articles and run webinars on the impact of parental addiction on young people. I also have a strong focus on youth offending in terms of challenging punishment-based systems and practices. I am based in Australia, so not sure how that would fit in terms of time zone 🩵 If you'd like to have a read, my articles are on my LinkedIn profile and also my website: https://nikkibutler.com.au/blog/
