Recertifying under B Lab's new standards? We have built an hour around the question most B Corps get stuck on: what counts as credible nature action? Thursday 1 October, 13:00–14:00 BST. Five practitioners, sixty minutes, no theory. Adam Thompson, Supply Chain and Sustainability Director at Pip & Nut | B Corp, has just come through it – one of the first twenty UK businesses certified under the new standards. He will share what the process revealed about nature requirements. Caitlin Byrne, Senior Consultant at Seismic, takes companies through certification. She will set out what strong, evidence-led answers on environmental performance actually look like. Laura Ford, Sustainability Director at Faith In Nature, the first company in the world to appoint Nature as a director on its board, joins us. Edmund Pragnell, Nature Finance Lead at CreditNature, on what place-based recovery looks like: Broughton Sanctuary, 607 hectares, ten years, the first UK project registered under the Accounting for Nature Standard. Suzi Cross, Managing Director at Ecosulis, chairs and keeps the hour on what works in practice. We are keeping the group small, so it stays a conversation. If recertification is on your horizon, this is a useful hour. 👉 Register to join us: luma.com/y9sewnmc #BCorp #NatureFinance #NatureRecovery
Recertifying under B Lab's new standards: Nature Action Requirements

Two years. That is how long Seismic tells companies to allow for B Corp recertification under the new standards. Their reasoning is practical. Some requirements ask you to evidence a full twelve months of action before they count. Some standards are sequenced, so one must be finished before another can begin. And most companies will need new processes and new types of evidence, not just a tidier version of what they already have. Seismic have guided more than 200 companies through certification. Their recertification guidance shapes a full section of our new guide for UK B Corps and purpose-led brands, reproduced with their permission. As Amy Bourbeau, Co-Founder of Seismic, put it: "This is a shift from flexibility to a model where you need to meet minimum requirements across all areas. It is about raising the bar and having faith in the standards we are meeting." Thank you to Rebecca Addison and Amy Bourbeau at Seismic, Suzi Cross at Ecosulis, and Angela Moran at Silentnight | B Corp™. Three very different vantage points - a consultancy, a delivery partner and a newly certified manufacturer - and a much better guide for it. Biodiversity is no longer something a B Corp can trade away against a stronger score elsewhere. B Lab's new standards replace the flexible points model with fixed minimum requirements across seven Impact Topics. For the first time, biodiversity is directly assessed. Larger companies must put a dedicated biodiversity transition plan in place. The transition is already live. B Lab began recertifying existing B Corps on the new standards in January 2026, with each company moving at its own recertification anniversary. So we have published a free guide for UK B Corps and purpose-led brands. Nature: The Next Frontier of Impact Leadership Inside: → Five practical takeaways from our Nature Means Business panel → A recertification readiness timeline → A 90-day action plan you can start on Monday It draws on a conversation with Ecosulis, Silentnight | B Corp™ and Seismic, the consultancy that has guided more than 200 companies through certification. The headline advice from the panel was refreshingly practical: do not start with targets. Start by mapping your value chain, then act on your own doorstep. B Corp recertification just got harder to evidence. The new standards ask for more than intent. They ask you to show what has actually changed – measurably, and in a way that holds up when someone checks. For nature and biodiversity, that is where most teams stall. Not because they aren’t doing the work, but because “we support nature restoration” is a statement, not evidence. On 1 October, we’re running Nature Means Business, a lunchtime session with our partners at Seismic. They have just guided several clients through recertification, so this isn’t theory – it’s what is happening in the room right now. We’ll cover what has changed, where teams are getting caught out, and how Nature Credits and Nature Investment Certificates turn nature recovery into verified, measurable evidence you can report against. Caitlin Byrne, Senior Consultant at Seismic, joins the panel. Registration link in the comments. #BCorp #NatureFinance #Biodiversity

For every US$1 the world invests in protecting nature, US$30 is spent on activities that destroy it. That figure, from the UN Environment Programme, is usually read as a warning. Read it the other way, and it is the clearest description of an open market you will see this year. B Lab's new standards raise the bar on environmental performance, and many B Corps are still working out how to respond. Nature is the next frontier of impact - and of business value. Join us on Wednesday 1 October, 13:00–14:00 BST. Nature Means Business: Why B Corps Are Best Placed to Lead The session covers: → How credible, place-based nature recovery demonstrates real environmental outcomes → How it strengthens performance across your B Impact Assessment → How a contribution to nature recovery can be built into everyday transactions As with our previous B Corp session, this is a discussion between Seismic and certified B Corps. It will be especially valuable for anyone unable to attend the last one. Register here: https://luma.com/y9sewnmc #BCorp #NatureFinance #Biodiversity

The Competition and Markets Authority can now fine a company 10% of global turnover for a misleading environmental claim. Without going to court. Under the Digital Markets, Competition and Consumers Act 2024, in force since April 2025, the CMA imposes penalties directly - up to 10% of global turnover or £300,000, whichever is higher, with daily penalties for continued non-compliance. Liability does not depend on intent. In January 2026, the CMA published "Making green claims: Getting it right, across the supply chain". It extends responsibility to businesses that simply repeat or pass on claims made by others. Your supplier's wording is now your exposure. Enforcement is already live. In February 2026, the Advertising Standards Authority upheld complaints against two well-known baby-care brands over "eco", "sustainable" and "biodegradable" claims that could not be substantiated across the full product. Here is the shift. The substantiation now matters as much as the claim itself. This is the Verification Economy: a market where the value of an environmental claim is set by the strength of the evidence behind it. For purpose-led businesses, that is good news. Rigour becomes an advantage rather than an overhead. Our new guide sets out what credible nature evidence looks like, and how to build it into a recertification plan. Most companies we speak to about nature hit the same wall. A new budget line. A separate workstream. A pilot that never quite scales. The intent is real, but the structure is wrong from the start. There's a different route. A small contribution from each transaction, channelled into verified ecosystem restoration, running alongside how a business already operates, not against it. That's what Green Margin™ does. It sits inside the transaction flow, not inside the budget. The methodology that measures the outcome is our own, the Terrestrial Ecosystem Condition Method, and it is the world's first independently accredited under the Accounting for Nature® Standard. If acting on nature has sat on a strategy slide for years and not moved, the problem may not be will. It may be design. Curious how others have approached this? What's worked? What hasn't? #NatureFinance #GreenMargin

We're proud to announce that CreditNature is now a certified B Corporation™. But this isn't a badge we pursued because it's fashionable. We pursued it because it reflects exactly what we believe: that nature recovery and financial integrity are not in tension; they are mutually reinforcing. B Corp™ Certification assesses a business across governance, workers, community, environment, and customers. It requires companies to meet high standards of social and environmental performance, and to legally embed a commitment to purpose alongside profit in their governing documents. For us, that was the point. We've always held ourselves to rigorous standards, from our independently accredited Terrestrial Ecosystem Condition Method under the Accounting for Nature® Standard, to the high-integrity nature markets we build. B Corp™ certification gives that commitment independent, external validation. In a market where trust is everything, we wanted to demonstrate that we hold ourselves to the same standards we apply to our ecosystem metrics. CreditNature is now part of a global community of over 10,000 certified B Corps™ across 102 countries. We're proud to be among them. More on the journey to certification; coming next week. #BCorp #BCorpCertified #NatureFinance #NatureRecovery #CreditNature

The B Corp framework has rightly become more rigorous & challenging. B Lab have made these changes to ensure that those certifying can rightly claim they are a force for good. Over the last few years, I have met the full spectrum: those who are evangelists, uncertain and sceptical about B Corp - and all have valid points. No framework is perfect, but few have the ability to galvanise customers, communities and employees towards collective action. There are now more than 300,000 companies that use the B Corp framework worldwide - a number far greater than the number of certified B Corps (about 10,000) So it's a fascinating time for businesses, of all sizes, to consider if and how the B Corp framework could, or should, challenge or modify corporate sustainability strategies. This may, or may not, include working towards B Corp certification. There are plenty of avenues to learn more about B Corp, including this webinar on the 11th Feb with expert input from Suzi Cross, Angela Moran & Rebecca Addison which will focus on credible nature action. https://lnkd.in/dwMNsTcJ

For B Corps, the recertification bar on nature is no longer asking "have you reduced carbon?" It's asking where the verified action is. The B Impact Assessment is moving in one direction. So is CSRD ESRS E4. So is the TNFD framework. All three increasingly expect the same thing: measurable, verified, audit-ready evidence of nature action; not just intent, and not just carbon. For most B Corps, this is the next big stretch. Green Margin™ is built for exactly this gap. A small contribution from each transaction funds verified ecosystem restoration. The result: verified evidence for the B Impact Assessment, alongside CSRD ESRS E4 and TNFD LEAP. One mechanism, three reporting destinations. We're running a webinar for B Corps navigating exactly this. Drop a comment if it would be useful, and we'll send details. #BCorp #NatureFinance #Biodiversity

Congratulations Will Foulkes for making my job boring! 😜 John Elkington has written a brilliant piece on Stabiliti and the #GreenMargin concept. How nature funding can be embedded directly into everyday commerce, running quietly in the background like payments infrastructure. No campaigns. No opt-ins. Just verified ecosystem recovery, funded automatically at the point of sale. What I particularly like about this article is how clearly it captures the shift from sustainability as a communications exercise to something much more meaningful and ambitious - #regeneration embedded into every day commerce. See a link to the article in the comments. I recently wrote about the Green Margin concept in Part 5 of my Nature Finance series - how businesses can embed a nature contribution directly into their commercial model. Stabiliti is what it looks like when that model meets real financial plumbing. #NatureFinance #NatureRestoration #Biodiversity
