Last night I had the great honour of delivering the #Lifetime Achievement Award to a great mentor, friend, and colleague: Professor Christopher Kuner. The Award was organised by the Future of Privacy Forum to celebrate the 10th Anniversary of the Brussels Privacy Symposium #BPS with the Brussels Privacy Hub. It was super emotional for at least two reasons: first, because I was there for the first BPS, 10 years ago, as a young researcher who was just falling in love with the big magic of digital regulation and digital rights. Second, because Chris Kuner was the person who (during the years of co-directorship at the Brussels Privacy Hub) taught me how to bear a high moral stature in academia. Also, fun fact: my first ever published article in English (on #IDPL), as a 23yo master student, was revised with in-text corrections and language fixes by that great and generous Editor-in-Chief (who, at the time, did not even know me) to whom, after many years, I had the honour to give that Lifetime Award. Congratulations on this well-deserved achievement!
Wonderful!
Such a lovely picture of two incredible people!
