We keep seeing platforms talk about AI. As technology becomes more accessible, the actuarial question is how to use it responsibly within an insurance company. How do we share it effectively with our colleagues? Automation cannot be used in isolation from actuarial judgment, or it will just create more work in the long term. These considerations shaped our approach to Akur8 Agents. We designed them around real actuarial workflows, ensuring that actuaries can see how each result was produced and have all the necessary actuarial elements available in one place, so they can review the results and use their expert judgment. For me, this is the baseline: AI should support actuarial work, not force us to sacrifice good practices within a black-box system.
