A timely statement as smart glasses reach more consumers. Accessibility, real-time translation and hands-free assistance offer valuable benefits. People nearby also need to understand when their data is being collected and how it will be used. A recording light does not, by itself, establish informed consent. Manufacturers and service providers must build effective safeguards into their products, including data minimisation and privacy-friendly defaults. These protections are essential to earning trust in everyday use.
