Royal visits don't happen every day, but the conversation was firmly focused on what comes next. During His Majesty The King's visit to Peterhead Port, our Stakeholder Lead, Mark McDonald, discussed the role floating offshore wind can play in the North East of Scotland, and how collaboration through the Peterhead Energy Transition Forum is helping drive the region's energy transition. Yesterday was a valuable first day at the Floating Offshore Wind Conference in Aberdeen. The plenary session focused on the vital role floating offshore wind has to play in Scotland and the UK’s energy transition, industrial strategy and regional economic growth. But we need to create the conditions that allow projects to progress, supply chains to invest and costs to come down. The consensus was the best solution is a strong pipeline of projects in delivery. Our speakers John Black and Carol Goodall took part in insightful sessions, as we as an industry deepen our collaboration to drive deployment and scaling. #FloatingWind26 #EnergyTransition #Aberdeen

The start to day two of Scottish Renewables' Offshore Wind conference 26 has been focusing on what’s needed to keep Scotland’s offshore wind pipeline moving, with strong emphasis on certainty, coordination and system reform. A central theme this morning has been the need to move away from the current model of “generation first, network second”, towards a more joined-up approach to planning, grid development and pricing. Reducing uncertainty, improving predictability and aligning network investment with future generation were seen as critical to unlocking confidence, investment and long-term delivery. At Flotation Energy we welcome this continued focus on streamlining and reforming critical areas of grid and charging. #SROffshore26 #FloatingOffshoreWind #SecurityofSupply #SupplyChain #Collaboration #FlotationEnergy

This week marks 25 years of offshore wind energy in the UK. Last year offshore wind accounted for a record 17% of the UK’s electricity and supported 40,000 jobs around the country. At present, the UK has a total generating capacity of 16.1GW of offshore wind - that’s enough to power over 16 million homes each year. The energy transition is advancing and through our portfolio of pioneering floating offshore wind projects, we look forward to playing a leading role in the UK’s clean energy revolution. #OffshoreWind #Generational #EnergyTransition #CleanPower RenewableUK
