Mark Hanna successfully represented American Millennium Insurance Company (AMIC) in two New Jersey coverage disputes involving uninsured and underinsured motorist benefits. The court dismissed claims against AMIC in both matters, finding that passengers in commercial vehicles were not entitled to UM/UIM benefits under the policies at issue. The rulings reinforce a well-established principle under New Jersey law regarding the scope of UM/UIM coverage in commercial automobile policies. Francis G. Tiongson assisted in the representations. Timothy Law and Jibri Douglas, MPH, Esq. have authored an article in Law.com's The Legal Intelligencer examining the intersection of criminal restitution and insurance policy recoveries in Pennsylvania. The article explores who has the right to court-ordered restitution funds when a crime victim holds an insurance policy - the victim or their insurer - and explains that insurers who delay or deny coverage forfeit their standing as "victims" under Pennsylvania's restitution statute. Tim and Jibri also examine how the made-whole doctrine reinforces that policyholders must be fully compensated before insurers can assert subrogation rights, providing a strong incentive for insurers to pay claims promptly and fairly - https://lnkd.in/ejtBhZWu
