Today, Good Things and the National AI Centre are bringing together leaders from government, industry, academia and the community sector to explore the essential role of community-based AI literacy in Australia’s AI skills ecosystem. The roundtable will be co-chaired by Jess Wilson, CEO of Good Things, and Lee Hickin, Executive Director of the National AI Centre. As AI becomes part of everyday life, people need more than access to new technology. They need the skills and confidence to make informed choices about when and how to use it, trusted places to learn and support when they need it. Professor Anthony McCosker will share emerging research from a Community Panel led by researchers at Swinburne University of Technology, in collaboration with Telstra, alongside insights from action research across our ten AI for Good AI Hubs. AI for Good, delivered in partnership with Telstra, Microsoft and LinkedIn, has reached more than 30,000 people, with over 2,000 participating directly in AI literacy learning through ten AI Hubs. We’re also looking forward to hearing directly from Zeina Nachar and Dolien Nicolsen from Hornsby Ku-ring-gai Community College and Lily Kovacevic from Network of Inner East Community Houses, who will share the community perspective on delivering AI literacy. Held as part of #GetOnlineWeek, the roundtable is part of our broader work to close the digital divide and help everyone feel confident in an increasingly digital world. We’re looking forward to bringing these different perspectives around the table today to test what we’re learning and explore what Australia needs to do next. 👉 Read more about the emerging insights and why community-based AI learning matters: https://lnkd.in/gyaXnfgs
