Whatever type of worker you are; employed or freelance, ND or not, It’s all about getting working Spaces right (with a capital S)! Last week I had the pleasure of meeting with and spending time at the new Pinterest UK HQ. The surreal thing being it that it’s in the same spot near Oxford Circus where an agency I once worked with (Essence) was stationed, but the transformation is incredible and you’d never know it was the same place! They’ve created an incredible space; as an independent who is very much now an office orphan and samples a range of client offices or co-working spaces, I can say this really is an absolute fave, I enjoyed spending an hour using one of the Focus Rooms myself! From the Neurodiversity perspective (and the 4S’) it is clear they’ve thought about the Spaces (and indeed Support, good Systems and a sense of Safety) for ND talent. Not only the dedicated neurodivergent area with rocking chairs and associated accessories, but the entirety of the office has been designed with the broad mosaic of workers in mind; different energies and curations (of course on brand), small varying snugs and open-plan areas to cater for all types of worker. They know what’s good for the hive is good for all the bees, and definitely feels like a blueprint for inclusive employee workspace design. Cc NDIM - Neurodiversity in Media. Thanks so much for the grand tour Caroline Orange-Northey (via the Fitzy Prince Pub); it was great to catch up, discuss the industry’s evolution, and see the awesome work being steered. Look forward to hopefully returning soon of course!
