Scaling AI Responsibly in Life Sciences and Enterprise

This title was summarized by AI from the post below.

What a thoughtful conversation on what it really takes to move AI from experimentation to enterprise reality!! At our latest #AWAAI 𝗙𝗶𝗿𝗲𝘀𝗶𝗱𝗲 𝗖𝗵𝗮𝘁, Uvika Sharma and I had the pleasure of speaking with Atika Kumar, Founder of WiZTREE Consulting, about scaling AI responsibly, particularly in life sciences and other highly regulated environments. 𝗜𝗻𝗻𝗼𝘃𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻 𝗶𝘀 𝗻𝗼𝘁 𝗱𝗼𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝘀𝗼𝗺𝗲𝘁𝗵𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗻𝗲𝘄. 𝗜𝘁’𝘀 𝗮𝗰𝘁𝘂𝗮𝗹𝗹𝘆 𝗺𝗮𝗸𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝘀𝗼𝗺𝗲𝘁𝗵𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝘄𝗼𝗿𝗸. And that really captured the theme of our discussion. We had some amazing takeaways form the session. I have listed a few, but do check out the entire conversation here - https://lnkd.in/gQGKREXx 🔹 𝗦𝗰𝗮𝗹𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗔𝗜 𝗶𝘀𝗻’𝘁 𝗮𝗯𝗼𝘂𝘁 𝗹𝗮𝘂𝗻𝗰𝗵𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝟭𝟬 𝗼𝗿 𝟭𝟬𝟬 𝘂𝘀𝗲 𝗰𝗮𝘀𝗲𝘀. It’s about building the systems, processes and infrastructure that make the *next* use case easier to move into production. 🔹 𝗚𝗼𝘃𝗲𝗿𝗻𝗮𝗻𝗰𝗲 𝘀𝗵𝗼𝘂𝗹𝗱 𝗲𝗻𝗮𝗯𝗹𝗲 𝗶𝗻𝗻𝗼𝘃𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻, 𝗻𝗼𝘁 𝘀𝗶𝘁 𝗯𝗲𝘀𝗶𝗱𝗲 𝗶𝘁 𝗮𝘀 𝗮 𝗰𝗼𝗺𝗽𝗹𝗶𝗮𝗻𝗰𝗲 𝗲𝘅𝗲𝗿𝗰𝗶𝘀𝗲. The right governance has to reflect the organization’s risk posture and, just as importantly, the context of the individual business unit. 🔹 𝗗𝗼𝗻’𝘁 𝗼𝘃𝗲𝗿-𝗴𝗼𝘃𝗲𝗿𝗻. Start with what Atika described as lightweight, iterative governance and allow it to evolve as AI systems become more capable and autonomous. 🔹 𝗔𝗴𝗲𝗻𝘁𝗶𝗰 𝗔𝗜 𝗰𝗵𝗮𝗻𝗴𝗲𝘀 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗰𝗼𝗻𝘃𝗲𝗿𝘀𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻. Audit trails, bounded actions, model changes, human oversight and organizational AI literacy become increasingly important as systems are given greater autonomy. 🔹 𝗧𝗵𝗶𝗿𝗱-𝗽𝗮𝗿𝘁𝘆 𝗔𝗜 𝗱𝗲𝘀𝗲𝗿𝘃𝗲𝘀 𝗷𝘂𝘀𝘁 𝗮𝘀 𝗺𝘂𝗰𝗵 𝘀𝗰𝗿𝘂𝘁𝗶𝗻𝘆 𝗮𝘀 𝘄𝗵𝗮𝘁 𝘄𝗲 𝗯𝘂𝗶𝗹𝗱 𝗶𝗻𝘁𝗲𝗿𝗻𝗮𝗹𝗹𝘆. Procurement, legal, privacy, technology and business teams all have a role in understanding what models vendors use, how data is handled, how systems are validated and what happens when those models change. And perhaps most importantly, we kept coming back to the 𝘩𝘶𝘮𝘢𝘯 𝘴𝘪𝘥𝘦 𝘰𝘧 𝘈𝘐 As AI takes over more tasks, how do we make sure the humans providing oversight still have the experience and judgment necessary to challenge it rather than simply approve what it produces? That is a question I think organizations will need to pay much more attention to. Thank you Atika, for sharing your experience so openly, and thank you to everyone who joined us and brought such thoughtful questions to the conversation. This is exactly what we want these AWAAI conversations to be: less about the AI hype, and more about what it actually takes to make AI work responsibly in the real world. #ResponsibleAI #AIGovernance #AILeadership #AgenticAI #LifeSciences #EnterpriseAI #AWAAI #RezonanceAI #INTLDA

Thanks you so much Padmini Soni and Uvika Sharma for inviting me to the discussion and for the thoughtful questions! One hour just passed by so quickly and refreshed me for the rest of evening. 😃

Padmini Soni Uvika Sharma This sounds like it was a great program tonight! Sorry I missed it!

Padmini Soni - Thank you for highlighting that third-party AI deserves just as much scrutiny as what we build internally. Great session.
