Shutterfly ERG ShutterColors Discusses Impostor Syndrome

This title was summarized by AI from the post below.

At Shutterfly, we believe meaningful conversations create stronger, more connected teams. Recently, ShutterColors, one of our ShuttERGroups (ERGs), hosted a session led by guest educator Dr. WandaJean Jones on an experience that resonates with many professionals at every stage of their careers: impostor syndrome.   Together, team members explored a significant truth: impostor syndrome isn’t about a lack of ability, but it’s often a gap between what we’ve achieved and how we feel about it. In fact, some research suggests people most likely to experience impostor syndrome are often high achievers. Through open dialogue and shared experiences, the team reflected on how self-doubt can hold us back and how we can actively work through it.  We’re proud of our ShutterColors members and all ShuttERGroups for showing up authentically, supporting one another, and continuing to build confidence together. Seeing organizations invest in conversations that support both personal and professional growth. Impostor syndrome can affect anyone, and creating an environment where employees can openly discuss it is a powerful step toward building confidence, inclusion, and stronger teams. Thanks for sharing!

“The room may be bigger than your confidence, but that doesn’t mean it’s bigger than your capacity.” I love that line. Growth rarely feels comfortable, and I’ve found that some of the biggest learning moments come from stepping into spaces where I don’t have everything figured out yet. Imposter syndrome is so uncomfortably real 🫣, but I love the reminder that it is just our inner critic, and not a sign of what we can truly accomplish.

So well said and true! Keeping this wonderful inspiration in mind - I work at a family owned, OSHA-trained commercial plumbing company located out of Charlotte. I would be honored to meet with the facilities director for your Fort Mill location to learn how we can serve you.
