Meaningful partnerships begin with conversations like these. Thank you to Nicholas Trevino and the team at Parallax Solutions for welcoming Ben Poulin and Chris Lewis to your Dayton workshop and for recognizing the mission behind Vets to Drones. Transitioning from military service is about more than finding the next job. It’s about translating experience, building professional connections, and discovering new opportunities for continued purpose and growth. At Vets to Drones, we’re committed to helping veterans and their families build pathways into the unmanned aircraft industry through education, FAA Part 107 preparation, professional development, and industry connections. It’s encouraging to connect with veteran-led organizations like Parallax Solutions that share our commitment to workforce development and recognize the value veterans bring to emerging technologies. We look forward to continuing the conversation and exploring opportunities to make a meaningful impact together. Last night, I had the privilege of welcoming Ben Poulin and Chris Lewis from Vets to Drones to the Parallax Solutions workshop here in Dayton, Ohio. What was originally a conversation about drones turned into several hours of discussing something much bigger: the transition from military service to civilian life, and the opportunities we can create for those who have served. As a veteran myself, this conversation meant a lot. Leaving the military isn't always as simple as taking off the uniform and starting a new career. For many veterans, it means rebuilding their professional identity, finding a new sense of purpose, and translating years of experience into opportunities in an unfamiliar civilian workforce. That's where organizations like Vets to Drones to are making a difference. Ben and Chris are working to help veterans and their families establish meaningful, sustainable careers within the rapidly expanding unmanned aircraft industry. From FAA Part 107 certification to professional development and career opportunities, their mission is about more than teaching someone to fly a drone. Its about creating pathways to a future beyond military service. And its a mission we strongly believe in at Parallax. The UAS industry is evolving at an extraordinary pace. From agriculture and infrastructure inspection to public safety, national defense, and emerging technologies, the demand for skilled professionals will only continue to grow. Veterans bring an incredible combination of technical experience, discipline, adaptability, and leadership to this industry. We have an opportunity, and I believe a responsibility, to help connect that talent with the organizations and technologies shaping its future. As Parallax continues to grow our manufacturing capabilities, counter-UAS training programs, and educational initiatives, we want veteran employment and workforce development to become a meaningful part of what we build. Not simply because were a veteran-founded company, but because we recognize the value of investing in the people who have already invested so much in serving others. A sincere thank you to Ben and Chris for spending the evening with us, sharing their vision, and presenting me with a Vets to Drones challenge coin. That coin will have a special place here at the workshop. I'm excited to see where these conversations lead. I believe there's some meaningful overlap between our missions, and potentially some exciting opportunities ahead. I think its safe to say this wont be the last time you hear about Parallax Solutions and Vets to Drones in the same conversation. To the veterans and transitioning service members reading this: the drone industry is creating opportunities that barely existed a decade ago. Your experience has value here, and organizations like Vets to Drones are helping make those opportunities accessible. #VetsToDrones #ParallaxSolutions #VeteranEmployment #MilitaryTransition #DroneIndustry #UAS
