We must focus on energy security: powering African industries, strengthening national grids, enabling gas-to-power and petrochemical value chains that support agriculture, and building regional trade systems resilient to external macroeconomic and geopolitical shocks.

"The Business Exchange: How Business Works" podcast of the American Business Council hosted Samuel Diminas, the Chief Executive Officer of the Westpaq International as the special Guest of the recent episode, "Global Standards, Local Capacity: What Investors Need to See in Nigeria's Oil and Gas". Nigeria is the largest oil and Gas producing country in Africa and Africa is a strategic growth market. One effective way to strengthen this market is through capacity building. Mr. Diminas noted that one of the most effective ways to accelerate capacity building in African markets is to intentionally enable international alliances and partnerships. These collaborations are necessary because, while Nigeria remains one of the more mature markets in the sector, the industry is still developing compared to global standards". He also noted that strengthening frameworks that encourage technical partnerships, skills transfer, and long-term collaboration allows local companies to grow sustainably, adopt global best practices, and build the expertise required to compete effectively on an international scale. Good policies remain critical, especially policies that prioritize structured collaboration with globally experienced firms - these remain critical to unlocking long-term sectoral growth.” Click on the link to listen 👉 https://lnkd.in/edrBVHrC
