I’ve been lucky enough to beta test a new text-to-image AI model from OpenAI called "4o generation model" and I have to say this one genuinely blew me away. This model acts like a full-stack AI assistant graphic designer. You can: ➡️ Generate infographics with real, usable text baked into the image (no more Photoshop layering). ➡️ Upload an empty room and a few photos of furniture styles and watch it restyle the space for you. ➡️ Create comic panels with consistent characters across scenes. ➡️ Take an existing visual and ask it to make clean, branded variants like new backgrounds, new layouts, new purposes. It’s the kind of tool that makes you stop and realize: an entirely new wave of creative workflows is opening up. If you're on a marketing team, this can: ➡️ Rapidly generate campaign variations for A/B testing. ➡️ Turn internal reports into on-brand visual content. ➡️ Help non-designers create polished slides, posts, mockups, and explainer images in minutes. I’m exploring this both as a creator and as someone who trains teams on AI tools and this one’s a game-changer. If you’re curious how tools like this will shape content creation, or want to explore how your team can integrate AI into your creative process (without losing the soul of your brand), let’s talk. This is just the beginning, but the future’s showing up fast.

Native, multimodal, prompt-to-picture image generation is now built directly into ChatGPT via GPT‑4o. And it's not just impressive. It's useful. Until now, image generation in ChatGPT relied on the DALL·E model. Now, GPT‑4o generates visuals from scratch - inside the same chat thread - drawing on everything you've said, asked, or uploaded. The result is tighter alignment, better contextual understanding, and remarkably accurate, photorealistic images. You can upload a sketch, describe what you want, and watch it transform into a high-quality visual with far more control than we’ve seen before. It doesn’t just create pretty pictures. It understands what you're trying to communicate. Whether it's rendering text correctly in a poster, showing complex object relationships, or sticking to a specific visual style across multiple prompts, GPT‑4o makes image generation feel less like a gimmick and more like a creative and professional tool. OpenAI has shown examples of storyboarding, scientific diagrams, signage, character design, concept art, product packaging, and more. And that’s just the beginning. The applications for people in design, marketing, education, and communications are obvious. But I’m also thinking about its value for safety professionals, policy teams, operational trainers, and compliance leaders. Imagine creating visual toolbox talks in minutes. Or generating safety campaign posters tailored to your site. Or using image iterations to reflect psychological safety conversations. This isn’t theoretical. It’s happening right now. Access has been rolled out to Plus, Pro, and Team users - but the launch was so popular that OpenAI had to pause access for free users, citing demand far beyond expectations. Of course, the system isn’t perfect. There are still known issues with cropping, multilingual text rendering, and dense editing. But even with these limitations, it’s hard to ignore what this signals. For the first time, text and image generation aren’t separate workflows. They’re one conversation. If you're already experimenting with GPT‑4o image generation, I’d love to hear how you're using it - or what you're curious to try. And if you work in health and safety, training, or internal communications and want a few use cases to start with, let me know. Happy to share what’s working. Here are some of the things I have been experimenting with so far. #safety #mentalhealth #ai Australian Institute of Health & Safety NSCA Foundation WHS Foundation - RTO 1907

New research introduces a reinforcement learning (RL) agent that progressively refines the output of text-to-image models by learning a user’s unique creative intent through a multi-turn dialogue: PASTA (Preference Adaptive and Sequential Text-to-image Agent). 🖼️ Eliminating Friction: The agent eliminates the need for users to rely on manual, trial-and-error prompt refinement to reach a desired image. 🖼️ Learning Preferences: PASTA was trained using a strategy that combined human rater feedback with a novel, large-scale user simulation technique to adapt to individual preferences. 🖼️ Performance: In human evaluations, the generative outputs of PASTA were preferred by 85% of users when compared to a state-of-the-art baseline model. This work demonstrates a new trajectory for generative AI that is a more interactive, adaptable, and collaborative tool. Read the technical details and access the open-sourced sequential rater dataset to explore this approach further. This week, the AI image generation landscape shifted again and a previous non-contender sprinted into the lead, at least for more casual users and content creators who just want an attractive, interesting image quickly... For the past 4-5 months, I've been using MidJourney (MJ) to improve the look of my content, and create supporting images for my carousels and videos. MJ over that period has generally been considered the frontrunner, and Open AI's DALLE 2, initially a groundbreaking innovation, quickly became an also-ran. That all got flipped on its head this week, when Open AI made DALLE 3 available at no extra charge to their ChatGPT4 subscribers. While MJ remains for now still a (wobbling) favorite of the more serious, artistic users, for the rest of us, DALLE 3 hit MJ right in its two current Achilles heels - initial prompt coherence and text rendering. Prompt coherence refers to how closely the images generated reflect the major elements of the prompt. The example prompt below was the exact one I used initially to begin generating images for my post yesterday. MJ typically does well on prompt coherence when there is a single subject in a clearly describable setting. It typically does very poorly when you prompt about interactions between characters and abstract concepts. The other thing MidJourney is comically terrible at is text rendering. DALLE 3 is not perfect in this regard, but at least gets close much of the time. You can see the striking difference in the response to my prompts below. DALLE 3 crushed it, returning three images that I could have used without modification in my post (1, 2 and 4) and I actually used the last one. Total time invested - about 3 minutes. MidJourney's results, while hilarious are completely unusable, except perhaps for memes... The fact that DALLE 3 capability is now included within the $20/month ChatGPT subscription, along with Advanced Data Analysis, vision and speech capability, plugins, and ability now to access the web makes the GPT4 bundle the best software value I've ever seen. I think this toolset is now an absolute "must have" addition to the Data Analyst stack for every analyst who can afford it. Where does this leave MidJourney? I don't know. But based on how good DALLE-3 is, I have dialed my $30/month subscription back to the $10/month plan for now. Does this mean that all the work I put in on MJ over the past few months was wasted and that you should sit back and "wait for the AI tool stack to shake out"? - NO and NO! The prompting techniques I learned on MJ carried over into breakthoughs I made in applying GPT4 and ADA to my work. In addition, I am now connected to many of the top experts in this area (who are doing their own evaluations), and my understanding of how these tools work has grown immeasurably. (Week 2/100) GenAI is cool. But Applied AI? That’s where the real magic happens. 🚀 For two years, all the hype has been around foundational AI models. Big money. Big breakthroughs. Big brains working on the future of intelligence. But here’s what nobody tells you: AI is only as valuable as its application. While VCs chase the next GPT-5, there’s an entire world of Applied AI—where AI is solving real business problems, not just generating viral tweets. And then there’s the biggest lie I keep seeing on a ton of youtube ads: “Prompt engineering will make you a millionaire. Do this 9 rupee course and transform your life.” No, it won’t. Prompting is just knowing how to talk to AI - it’s just English. It’s table stakes. The real value is combining AI with domain expertise to build something useful. The ones who will win? ✅ Those who ship products, not just tweak prompts ✅ Those who have distribution—because GTM is still king ✅ Those who use AI to solve real pain points But here’s the catch: AI moves fast. The sea of AI tools is endless—some are game-changers, others are hype. So, I went deep, explored them all, and handpicked the best ones across categories: Multi-Media AI Tools (for video, audio, and images): 🎨 Midjourney / Krea.ai → Stunning AI-generated visuals 🖌️ Stable Diffusion + ComfyUI → Free and open-source image generation 🎬 Runway / Pika Labs → AI-powered video editing 📸 Luma → 3D scene capture 📢 HeyGen + ElevenLabs + RVC → AI voices + avatars 🎵 Suno.ai → AI-generated music 🖥️ Jarvislabs.ai → Remote GPUs for high-speed AI rendering 📐 Matanyone.com → AI-powered matte layers from backgrounds 🕹️ Meshy.ai (Image-to-3D) → Convert 2D images into 3D models AI for Software Product Building (build and automate faster): 🖥️ Cursor / Replit → AI-powered dev tools 🧠 Hugging Face → Open-source models for everything AI ⚡ AgenticAI with n8n → Automate AI workflows 🔗 make.com → No-code automation for social workflows 🛠️ Langflow / Langchain / Langgraph → AI app frameworks Best AI stack? Vo + Shadcn + Cursor + Vercel + Supabase + Langgraph + Litellm I’ll be deep-diving into these tools over the coming weeks, testing them on real-world use cases. AI isn’t just about generating cool images or viral content. It’s about building the future, responsibly. Which of these AI tools excites you the most? Or did I miss a game-changer? 🔥 New GPT-4o Image Generation: The Business Impact You Need to Know Just spent the morning testing OpenAI's new image generation in GPT-4o, and I'm genuinely impressed by what this means for business workflows. For context - our design team has been spending 15+ hours weekly on basic visual assets. This tool is about to change that completely: ✅ Text in images that actually works - I created a menu, street sign, and event invitation with perfectly rendered text on the first try ✅ Multiple objects without confusion - Asked for a grid with 16 specific items and it delivered exactly what I needed, in the right order ✅ Conversation-based editing - No more back-and-forth with designers. Just tell it what to change, and it maintains consistency ✅ Learns from your images - Uploaded our product photos and it used them as reference for new marketing materials ✅ Knows what things should look like - Created an accurate weather infographic and cocktail recipe cards without needing to provide examples ✅ Realistic output across styles - From professional product photos to vintage-style promotional materials - all look convincingly real For our marketing team, this means: - Creating first drafts of campaign visuals in minutes instead of days - Testing multiple visual concepts before investing in final production - Building consistent visual libraries without the usual designer bottlenecks - Producing quick, professional social graphics without opening design software The tool adds C2PA metadata to every image too, which helps with transparency as we use more AI visuals in our materials. My take: This isn't just a shiny new toy – it's a practical tool that's going to reshape how businesses approach visual content. The organizations that adapt quickly will gain a serious edge in both efficiency and creative output. The gap between companies with access to professional design resources and those without is about to shrink dramatically. That's something worth paying attention to. #DataMantis #MantisAI #BusinessTools #ContentCreation #AIforMarketing #VisualDesign

You probably heard about Google’s recently launched Nano Banana, a lightweight yet powerful image generation model. There’s more to share about it. Unlike traditional heavy models, Nano Banana focuses on efficiency without sacrificing quality. It can transform a simple text prompt or even an uploaded image into a polished, high-resolution output while maintaining consistency and safety checks. But how exactly does this AI take your words (or pictures) and bring them to life? This roadmap takes you through the complete journey of AI image generation, from the very first input stage to the final polished image, so you can clearly understand what happens behind the scenes. 1. Input Stage → You type a text prompt or upload an image for editing. 2. Text Processing → AI breaks text into tokens, converts them into embeddings (numbers). 3. Image Preprocessing → Uploaded images are split into small patches with features extracted. 4. Noise Initialization → Process begins with random noise, like a fuzzy blank canvas. 5. Concept Understanding → AI builds a mental plan of what the image should look like. 6. Multimodal Alignment → Text embeddings + image patches are mapped into a shared space. 7. Guided Transformation → Step-by-step, noise is removed, image becomes clearer. 8. Attention Mechanism → AI focuses on key details (e.g., makes “glasses” sharp & visible). 9. Iterative Refinement → Shapes gain textures, colors, depth, and realism. 10. Output Delivery → High-resolution final image is produced with an AI watermark. 11. Final Polishing → Shadows, reflections, and colors are enhanced for realism. 12. Safety & Consistency Check → Filters scan for harmful content and ensure subject consistency. With Nano Banana, Google is making image generation faster, safer, and more consistent, while keeping quality high. #AI
