Independent advisors are under pressure: clients expect more personalization, regulators demand more documentation, and time is scarce. AI tools are emerging that can automate the busywork and give advisors back hours each week—while improving client engagement and portfolio decisions. Here are some of the most promising solutions worth knowing: Here’s a quick list of options to explore: Zocks | AI for Advisors: AI assistant for financial advisors that automates meeting notes, follow-up emails, intake forms and other admin tasks — helping you reclaim 10+ hours per week Jump: AI meeting assistant that syncs with your tech stack to create agendas, take detailed notes, and generate follow-up tasks, cutting about 90% of meeting admin Nitrogen: Client engagement platform combining risk profiling with planning; advisors can measure each client’s risk tolerance, build personalized proposals, and run interactive retirement or portfolio simulations in one streamlined tool Vise: AI-powered portfolio management platform enabling advisors to build and manage custom client portfolios at scale, automating tasks like portfolio construction, automated rebalancing and tax-loss harvestingvise.com Catchlight: AI lead-generation and marketing tool that analyzes your leads to predict which prospects are most likely to convert, helping advisors prioritize outreach and grow assets more effectively FP Alpha: AI-based financial planning assistant that “reads” clients’ documents (tax returns, wills, insurance policies, etc.) to extract key financial data and surface actionable planning insights within minutes Eton Solutions LP: Back-office automation AI for wealth managers; it processes hundreds of document types (bills, statements, tax forms, etc.) to automate workflows like bill-paying and reconciliation, and even generates investment research and due-diligence reports For independent advisors, the path forward is proactive experimentation underpinned by best practices. The advisors who move quickly to integrate AI responsibly – combining cutting-edge tools like Zocks, Vise, or Catchlight with rigorous controls – may achieve a competitive edge. In the words of an industry leader: “the best advisors can get even better with AI in their client toolkit,” provided the innovations serve and do not replace the advisor-client relationship

  • Most firms I talk to say they're "AI-first." But when you ask how they're using it in production, you get vague answers about "exploring use cases" and "running pilots." These 12 fintechs (small to large enterprises) are leading the way using AI in payments, risk, and operations at scale: DIGITAL MARKETING FMG - Traditional best-in-class player now with AI powering marketing solutions specifically for financial advisors. AdvisorStream - Automated content marketing with curated articles, social posts, and newsletters for advisors with Gen AI for newsletter creation, recommendations and personalization. Snappy Kraken - Creates marketing at scale by automating email campaigns, social media, landing pages etc. with AI specifically for financial services. INVESTMENT + TRADING INTELLIGENCE Auquan – AI agents automating investment research, risk analysis, and memo-writing inside top-tier institutions. Replacing manual analyst workflows entirely. Alpaca – Commission-free API-based trading enabling algorithmic trading with ML models. Powers thousands of trading algorithms in production. Arta Finance – Digital family office using AI to build personalized portfolios and agentic workflows for accredited investors. Portfolios-of-one at scale. CLIENT MEETING SUPPORT Jump - Advisor AI - AI meeting recorder with workflow automation, advanced customization, and deep integrations founded by repeat fintech entrepreneurs Parker Ence Tim Chaves and Adam Kirk. FinMate AI - An AI-native notetaker for financial advisors. Automates meeting notes and task generation with an integration with PreciseFP to push client data directly into financial planning software. Zeplyn | Agentic AI for Wealth Managers - Founded by ex-Google engineers Era Jain + Divam Jain, built for wealth management with agentic AI capabilities. Recording-free note-taking option for privacy-conscious advisors. PROSPECTING FINNY - Fully automated AI prospecting agent with proprietary "F-Score" matching engine. Founded by three YC AI engineers ( Eden Ovadia, Victoria Toli, Theodore Janson). Cashmere - Matches best-fit advisors with prospects using machine learning and personalized automated outreach. Founded by Farbod Nowzad, Eshan Govil, Sean Cheng. CRM Wealthbox - Advisor-specific CRM with natural integration partner for advisor-focused tools and new AI capabilities. Redtail Commerce Inc. - The #1 CRM for independent financial advisors with constantly emerging AI capabilities. PORTFOLIO MANAGEMENT Addepar - Modern cloud-native platform that disrupted the legacy players with AI-powered analytics and reporting. Orion Industries - One of the "Big 3" legacy platforms, but actively modernizing and building integrated ecosystem with AI features. What I notice: The ones actually using AI in production aren't calling it "AI strategy" , but rather calling it "our underwriting engine" or "our fraud system." Who else should be on this list?

  • I've been exploring AI tools that genuinely transform how wealth management firms operate, and I keep coming back to one that's quietly revolutionizing our work. While most conversations around AI focus on ChatGPT, Claude (by Anthropic) offers something different - particularly for those of us navigating complex financial questions daily. Its mathematical reasoning capabilities allow us to build what we need without writing a single line of code. Think about the financial planning tools you wish existed but don't. The models that would perfectly suit your unique client base if only software companies understood your specific needs. What if you could build them yourself? Not through coding or development teams, but simply by explaining what you need in plain English? I've been experimenting with Claude to: ▪️ Create customized cash flow models tailored to specific family situations ▪️ Build visualization tools for complex financial concepts ▪️ Solve intricate tax planning scenarios with variables Excel struggles with ▪️ Design Roth conversion strategies with multi-year projections The implications run deeper than convenience. This represents a fundamental shift in who controls innovation in our industry. For decades, wealth managers have adapted our processes to fit off-the-shelf software limitations. We've settled for "close enough" because custom development was prohibitively expensive. That era is ending. The firms that thrive in the next decade won't be those with the biggest tech budgets, but those who leverage AI to craft precisely what their clients need - without the traditional technical barriers. I believe we're witnessing the democratization of fintech development, where advisors become creators rather than just consumers of technology. What financial planning challenge would you solve if you could build exactly what you needed? (I'll share a video in the comments showing exactly how I’ve explored using Claude)

  • HubSpot + Frame AI = What’s in it for Financial Services? As a HubSpot partner specialising in Financial Services, an ex-Salesforce admin and a big fan of AI (and the art of what is possible with AI), I've been closely watching the AI arms race in the CRM space, which is heating up 🔥🔥🔥 HubSpot has acquired Frame AI; Salesforce set a bold goal to deploy 1 billion enterprise AI agents by the end of 2025 🤔 According to an article I read a while back on MIT Technology Review, Gen AI implementation could lead to up to $340 billion in annual cost savings across the finserv industry. For the team at Inbound FinTech, the exciting part lies in what we can do for our customers on the implementation side of things. There is a world of possibilities that opens up for financial services when it comes to leveraging unstructured data across customer experience and operational efficiency. A couple of use cases for financial services popped to mind, some connected to existing client use cases, as I was diving deeper into Frame AI this weekend: 1️⃣ Compliance enhancement and risk mitigation within the CRM via automated documentation for regulatory reporting & audit trails. Real-time monitoring across customer communications, with risk flags via a risk dashboard and email notifications, applicable for pretty much any business in financial services. 2️⃣For mortgage brokers, streamlining the loan application process by extracting key information from client engagements, updating the CRM and triggering follow-ups for missing documentation or additional requirements (missing client information and chasing is always an issue). 3️⃣Automated risk scoring for merchants, for payment processing companies based on merchant activity and changing market conditions. 4️⃣For insurance companies, policy matching based on key client information, client interaction, claims history, risk exposure and regulatory changes. 5️⃣Personalised exchange rate alerts, implemented for currency and payment solution services companies, based on market conditions and client transaction patterns/history, to improve engagement and increase transaction values. 6️⃣For infrastructure suppliers in finserv, customer communication analysis to identify evolving infrastructure needs, update intelligence dashboards with insights, identify customer issues at the point of communication, and automatically generate and prioritise service tickets. 7️⃣For investment management firms, analyse client comms across global offices to identify investment trends, update trends dashboards and why not, even update contact records with information on risk tolerance. 8️⃣For personal loan providers, personalised automated marketing campaigns & segmentation based on financial needs, behaviour (and credit score). Would love to hear any other insights/use cases and, on a slightly different note, how do you think the integration of #AI in #CRM will impact #dataprivacy and #compliance in the #finserv sector?

  • I started building AI applications for financial advisors two and a half years ago, first internally at Lifeworks Advisors and then at Vega Minds | AI for Advisors. Since ChatGPT's release, I've given one public presentation every two months on average, and I kept asking the same few introductory questions to the audience, allowing me to track how generalist and advisor-specific AI tools are being adopted by our market. Not that I don't trust industry surveys! But I like to be my own primary source and ask advisors who weren't expecting to be surveyed. Advisors who actively choose to respond to online surveys are a biased, tech-savvy sample, and I think my little homemade samples are more valuable (humbly!). Anyways, here come the stats: ❓ Have you tried ChatGPT at least once? ✋ In the first half of 2023, although OpenAI claimed 100M monthly active users, only 20-25% of the room would raise their hands. ✋ It took a full year to reach 50%. ✋ Just now, for the very first time, I presented to a room where 100% of advisors raised their hands. ❓ Do you use ChatGPT every day? ✋ For almost two years, only one or two advisors (outliers) would raise their hands. ✋ Now, about 10-15% do. ❓ Have you already tried at least one advisor-specific AI tool? (I'm always showing logos on a slide.) ✋ Fewer! than! 10% of advisors! raise! their! hands! today! My conclusion remains the same: penetration is still VERY LOW, we're SO early. Domain-specific AI applications (note-taking, email drafting, CRM updates) built on top of highly curated data sources (CRM data, client conversations, planning data) make tremendous sense for advisory practices. Check out solutions like Zocks | AI for Advisors or Vega Minds | AI for Advisors, for example. Time-to-value is extremely fast (near zero ramp-up to get outputs that save you time). Subscriptions are already inexpensive and will continue to get cheaper. Privacy and security systems are compliant. Yet, the market is slow to adopt: 1️⃣ First, there’s natural inertia in any industry. It took ours 15 years to fully adopt CRMs, and over 30 years to widely adopt passive ETFs. 2️⃣ Second, fragmented AI SaaS offerings are limited because they can't access all the data sources an advisor relies on and span all their workflows. They're highly specialized (which is great when there's a well-defined, narrow pain point!). They have blind spots. Tech-native RIAs are ideally positioned over the next 10 years to deliver the AI "god product" advisors crave, because they own the data and workflows AI applications should be built around. I believe a ton in Compound, for instance.

  • Most fintechs and AI firms are still fighting over predictive models. “My model is better". “Higher accuracy". “Slightly better lift". But predictive modeling is not new. Financial institutions have used statistical and machine learning models for nearly two decades. Most already have them. The real AI opportunity is no longer about better prediction. It is about changing how financial institutions work and grow. In wealth management, the biggest constraint is advisor capacity. There simply are not enough advisors to engage prospects and clients. That directly limits new AUM and deeper client relationships. At Cognerium, we built an Agentic AI ERP Platform to change this. It expands advisor capacity by up to 10X, enabling advisors to manage more clients and leads, drive new wealth AUM, and support deposit and lending growth - without adding headcount. AI should transform operations, not just improve model scores. That is the shift we believe the industry is moving toward. • 🤖💰AI Agents are the Next Frontier in FSI Automation - In a recent guidebook, "AI AGENTS: THE ILLUSTRATED GUIDEBOOK (2025 Edition)" by Avi Chawla & Akshay Pachaar (Daily Dose of Data Science), the power of sophisticated, multi-agent AI systems is laid bare. For Financial Services, the shift from static LLMs to agentic workflows is transformative. Imagine an end-to-end AI-powered Financial Analyst system that doesn't just respond to a query, but autonomously executes code, pulls real-time market data, and visualizes stock trends—all within an enterprise-grade framework. The guide showcases how to build exactly this, moving from natural language requests to structured outputs and executable code for market analysis. This shift to Agentic AI—where software teams are building "crews" of specialized agents—is critical for enterprises looking to automate complex, multi-step processes like real-time currency conversion, risk assessment, and financial reporting. Key Takeaways for Financial Services Leaders: ✅ Autonomous, Multi-Step Execution: Agents can decompose complex tasks (like market analysis or reporting) into smaller steps, delegate them, and execute them automatically, dramatically reducing manual intervention. ✅ Real-Time Data Access is Key: Agents overcome the data cut-off limitations of standard LLMs by integrating external tools and APIs (e.g., live exchange rate APIs) to access real-time financial data, a core requirement for trading, risk, and compliance. ✅ The Value of Specialization: High-performing solutions rely on multi-agent collaboration, where a specialized "Query Parser Agent," "Code Writer Agent," and "Code Executor Agent" work in sequence to ensure precision in complex financial tasks. ✅ Robust Design Patterns Drive Reliability: Modern agentic systems employ patterns like ReAct (Reason and Act) and Planning to ensure reliability, enabling agents to self-correct and reason through multi-step financial workflows. ✅ Memory for Contextual Banking: Implementing multi-layered Memory (short-term, long-term, entity) allows agents to recall client history and preferences across interactions, providing truly personalized and continuous service for wealth and retail banking applications. 🔗 Access the report here 👉 https://lnkd.in/gZ77Q8KV

  • 2025 will be an exciting year for Financial Services firms. Why? Zocks will improve workflows and redefine how Financial Advisors(FAs) interact with clients. Here’s what’s on our 2025 roadmap: Quick disclaimer: It’s hard to plan a full year out because things are moving extremely quickly in this industry. But at a high level, Zocks will focus on giving firms deeper visibility into their data, so FAs can improve how they connect with their clients. Here’s what’s coming: 1. Expanding email interactions We’ll move beyond drafting single replies to recommending responses on entire email threads. In early 2025, Zocks will help FAs handle entire conversations, powered by data collected in the system. 2. Streamlining back-office workflows and integrations We’ll continue working on Zocks being able to help with time-intensive yet high-impact tasks, such as: - Updating Planning Information - Account openings - Money movement - Fact-finders - Risk assessments - Policy applications 3. Richer insights through data integration Zocks already connects to most communication channels (eg. phone calls, meetings). In 2025, our focus is on integrating even more data sources to create richer, more actionable insights that firms couldn’t access before. As a result, firms will gain a clearer view of their clients, work more efficiently, and handle more accounts without needing additional staff — all while maintaining the personal touch clients value. But I understand there are challenges along the way. Here are some of them: 1. Balancing trust in AI One of the biggest challenges is that AI can still make mistakes or prioritize less critical tasks. We’ll continue fine-tuning Zocks to improve accuracy. But overall, the goal is for customers to develop confident reliance on AI, without over-delegation. 2. Legacy systems Integrating with existing systems can be tough – some are decades old, others are custom-built and vary in complexity. Our focus is on ensuring secure data mapping and seamless integrations to overcome these barriers. 3. Catching up to speed with customers The industry is evolving quickly, and so is Zocks. If you look at the features we’ve rolled out in the last 3-6 months, it’s exciting – but can also be a lot to take in. So we want to spend more time helping and educating customers to see where Zocks fits into their workflows and how to use it to its fullest. 2025 will be about scaling personalization, enhancing efficiency, and unlocking opportunities firms never knew existed. And we’re just getting started.
