The X-Files is hitting the ground running—albeit knee-deep in murk and murder, conspiracy and cosmic confluences.

It’s looser--and smarter--and it could just make believers out of those who never joined the conversation in the first place.

The X-Files is a classic that perfectly blends sci-fi, horror, and mystery. The stories are creepy, smart, and often unforgettable, whether it’s alien conspiracies or strange one-off cases. Mulder and Scully are iconic, with amazing chemistry that carries the show. Even years later, its still tense, fun, and incredibly influential. A must-watch series that never loses its atmosphere or appeal.

Duchovny and Anderson both seem more relaxed, finally rediscovering their old zip-zap chemistry. Guest stars Kumail Nanjiani and Rhys Darby are delightful. It’s scary, then funny, then existential, then shockingly moving.

If the first episode left me disappointed, the next two made me hope that this six-episode experiment works well enough to justify more. They’re that good.

By episode two, Mulder and Scully are, jarringly, back on the job and once again investigating an X-Files case that may or may not involve alien-human hybrids.... [The third episode is] the best of the first three episodes but also the weirdest.

Duchovny and Anderson slip easily into their old roles. But character chemistry and nostalgia are not enough to carry a new season, even (or especially) such a short one.

It's not quite sci-fi, not quite fantasy, and yet not quite realistic either. It's not quite a show, is what it's not quite...You may get an urge to take a hike too, but pity the poor critic who has to sit there with a big grin on his face and watch the whole stupid thing. [10 Sept 1993, p.G7]

Gelmiş geçmiş en iyi dizi. Net. Üstüne başka bir dizi gelmez. Her bölümü ayrı efsane.

This is one of the greatest shows ever made. The last two seasons took a bit of a dip, but everything up to then is absolutely brilliant. A remarkable series.

At this point, X-files is just formulaic, tired nostalgia. Season 11 is the standard ET-government conspiracy canon with a few better, but mediocre stand-alone episodes. Anderson and Duchovny are the only remaining attribute. While not a major departure, they imbue their characters with a sly weariness, apt for their age. Nothing else is worthwhile. The dialogue is trite and obvious, with predictable, corny humor that doesn't work. None of the stories are especially interesting. The aesthetics are dated. The series probably should have concluded after season 6 or so.
