Turning expertise into opportunity<\/h2><\/div>

At Vanguard, advancing financial well-being isn\u2019t limited to the work we do for clients. Across the company, crew members are helping bring that mission to life in the communities where they live and work. <\/p>

For some crew, community stewardship creates an opportunity to connect personal passions with professional expertise.
That\u2019s true for Laura T., Chief of Staff for Vanguard\u2019s Center of AI & Insights. A former math teacher, Laura volunteers with My Classroom Economy, helping students build confidence in earning, saving, budgeting, and decision-making through hands-on financial literacy experiences. <\/p>

\u201cVolunteering with My Classroom Economy<\/em> completes this circle,\u201d she said. \u201cIt allows me to support our communities in a way that is deeply personal and perfectly aligned with my background, and it is immensely gratifying to help teach students financial decision-making.\u201d<\/p>

My Classroom Economy is one example of Vanguard\u2019s broader commitment to advancing financial well-being in communities. Through hands-on financial literacy experiences, the program has reached more than 1.3 million students, with 86% of educators reporting improvements in financial responsibility. Vanguard volunteers play an important role in helping to bring the program to classrooms and students.<\/p> <\/div>

Building on a decade of community impact<\/h2><\/div>

These efforts are part of a broader journey. After a decade of impact, Strong Start for Kids, Vanguard\u2019s signature charitable initiative focused on improving school readiness and early childhood outcomes in underserved communities, will conclude at the end of 2026. Since launching in 2016, the program has helped support more than a million children and families through grants, volunteerism, and community partnerships.<\/p>

Building on that legacy, Vanguard is introducing Foundations & Futures<\/a>, an expanded community stewardship strategy focused on advancing financial well-being across all life stages. The initiative brings together charitable giving, financial education, volunteerism, and Vanguard\u2019s expertise to help people build financial knowledge and confidence, access pathways to investing, and create long-term wealth.<\/p> <\/div>

A shared commitment to financial well-being<\/h2><\/div>

Laura is one of many Vanguard crew members contributing to efforts that help make financial well-being more accessible. Across the company, crew volunteer their time and expertise supporting local nonprofit organizations that help create pathways to financial well-being for people at every stage of life. These opportunities allow crew members to apply the same skills they use every day in support of a broader purpose.
\u201cOur support goes far beyond financial contributions,\u201d said Rashanda P., Senior Manager of Philanthropy and Community Stewardship. \u201cIt\u2019s about showing up with skills and the conviction that we can help build something better.\u201d <\/p>

That belief reflects a broader commitment at Vanguard. We are expending our mission\u2014to give all investors the best chance for investment success\u2014deeper into our communities. Through this work, we aim to build financial confidence, expand access to investing, and create more opportunities for long-term wealth building. Community partnerships, volunteer initiatives, and educational programs are designed to provide resources and help individuals build confidence and opportunity for the future.<\/p> <\/div>

As Vanguard continues to expand its community impact efforts, crew members remain at the center of that work. Whether mentoring students, supporting educators, volunteering with nonprofit organizations, or helping develop new community partnerships, employees are finding meaningful ways to make a difference beyond their day-to-day responsibilities.<\/p>
