Asia-Pacific CRVS Civil Society Coalition

Civil society organisations (CSO) and community-based groups across Asia and the Pacific are invited to apply to join the Asia-Pacific CRVS Civil Society Coalition, a new regional initiative to strengthen meaningful civil society engagement in inclusive civil registration and vital statistics systems.

Civil society organisations (CSOs) already contribute to making CRVS systems inclusive and accessible through community engagement, grassroots organisation and informal networks. However, CSO engagement remains fragmented and is often underfunded or uncompensated.

Civil registration and vital statistics systems (CRVS) are fundamental to the recognition of legal identity, the realisation of rights, access to services and the production of reliable population data. Civil Society Organisations (CSOs) often support excluded communities through outreach, legal assistance, documentation of registration barriers and exclusion, policy advocacy and direct assistance to individuals and families.
