  2. Internet Teletype Greenwich Channel Check out Greenwich news, politics, military and sports via Internet broadcasted 24/7.

  3. Streaming audio link to the RTTY.COM server, should bring up your default software on your computer, usually RealPlayer or WinAmp is another version of ITTY, but it targets those users that do not want the 24/7 broadcast feed and only want to read mail from other users, similar to your email you get today. The video on the right shows an example of how to use this service.

New Greenwich
 Internet Teletype Channel

The GREENWICH Channel has been set up and is now running. This Channel is in response to inquiries from European teletype enthusiasts as to whether or not they could have an ITTY Channel that conforms with their technical standards. The MARK tone is either 1275 Hertz or 1275 Cycles, depending on one’s upbringing. The SPACE tone is either 1445 Hertz or 1445 Cycles, once again dependent on one’s early life. The transmission speed is 50 Baud, and bell is upper case “J”. The receiving address is 209.180.212.65:8040. For those wishing to submit items to the GREENWICH Channel the address is GREENWICH(at)209.180.212.65:8040. Line length is limited to 68 characters. Use of the ITTY Mailer, available at Bill’s Software Lab (for FREE) is recommended. The mailer can be easily adapted to the GREENWICH Channel using the “OPTIONS” feature.

Do as follows :

  1. Download and open the ITTY Mailer.
  2. Open the Mailer Main Screen.
  3. Upper Left corner of the Mailer windows shows “OPTIONS”.
  4. Click on OPTIONS.
  5. “FIELD OPTIONS” Dropdown will appear.
  6. Click on “FIELD OPTIONS”, “TOGGLE ADVANCED CONTROLS” will appear.
  7. Access to the Server Name, “FROM”, PORT number, and IP ADDRESS will become available, as well.
  8. In the Server Window enter “GREENWICH”.
  9. In the “From” Window enter your identifier, with your Name or Town or other identifier.

  10. In the PORT window enter 598.
  11. In the IP Address window enter 209.180.212.65.
  12. DO NOT DINK WITH THE SUBJECT WINDOW!!! - - LEAVE IT ALONE - -
  13. Save your changes with a “CTRL- C”.

It should now be good to go. Close the mailer and reopen and your changes should be in place.

The 2014 Sea-Pac convention includes numerous exhibitors of new equipment as well as flea market tables where you can find lots of bargains on parts and vintage gear or perhaps sell some of your old equipment. If you don't want to set up a table, you can also sell equipment on consignment through the RAGS Country Store.

 

Chances are that if you are looking for old teletype equipment, vacuum tubes and other types of antique equipment you will find it here!

Museum of Communications
2012

This museum feature all sorts of antique telecommunication equipment and is located on the second floor of the telephone building in Seattle, Washington.  Volunteers that will guide you through all sorts of equipment including a large assortment of functional teletype printers.

The Museum of Communications (originally known as The Vintage Telephone Equipment Museum) is a 501(c)(3) non-profit corporation located in the Georgetown neighborhood. The address is 7000 East Marginal Way South, Seattle, Washington, 98108.

The museum can be reached on (206) 767-3012 and is open every Tuesday from 8:30 a.m. to 2:00 p.m.
