Jurickson Profar

COL Shortstop #29

Jurickson Profar is back in left field on Wednesday after missing two starts due to a sore left knee.

Profar’s return might make the Rockies lineup look a little less awful on paper, but that’s about the best that can be said. Now that Sean Bouchard is healthy and regaining his timing in Triple-A, Profar’s days with the team should be numbered.
Dennis Santana

NYM Relief Pitcher #65

Mets selected the contract of RHP Dennis Santana from Triple-A Syracuse.

Santana will rejoin the team’s pen. He got into eight games with the Mets earlier this season, posting a 6.23 ERA. He had a 4.91 ERA in 33 innings at Syracuse.
Jose Butto

NYM Starting Pitcher #70

Mets optioned RHP José Butto to Triple-A Syracuse.

Butto threw 64 pitches in relief last night, so he wasn’t going to be available for a few days. That means it’s back to Triple-A for him. The 25-year-old Butto has a 4.30 ERA in two starts and two relief appearances for the Mets this season.
Edwin Uceta

NYM Relief Pitcher #64

Mets designated RHP Edwin Uceta for assignment.

Uceta has missed much of the season with an ankle sprain, though he’s healthy now, having made four appearances in the minors this month. The 25-year-old has a 5.80 ERA in 40 1/3 innings as a major leaguer since debuting in 2021.
Carlos Correa

MIN Shortstop #4

Carlos Correa is out of the lineup Wednesday to rest his troublesome left foot.

Kyle Farmer is starting at shortstop. Correa has been playing through plantar fasciitis, and he apparently woke up a little sorer than usual today. Resting him in the series finale against the Tigers will give him a two-day break in combination with Thursday’s off day.
Zach Davies

ARI Starting Pitcher #27

Zach Davies (back) allowed seven runs and 11 hits over three innings in his rehab start with Triple-A Reno on Tuesday.

The Diamondbacks might opt to move on from Davies, even though they don’t have much in the way of rotation depth at the moment. The veteran had a 7.38 ERA in 12 starts before going on the injured list last month.
Adrian Morejon

SD Starting Pitcher #50

Adrián Morejón, on the IL with knee inflammation, gave up seven runs in relief in his rehab appearance with Triple-A El Paso on Tuesday.

Morejón didn’t get any outs while giving up six hits and walking a batter. The right-hander had been effective in his previous three appearances since beginning his rehab, but one imagines the Padres won’t be in a hurry to bring him back after this.
Ji Hwan Bae

PIT Second Baseman #3

Ji Hwan Bae (ankle) went 3-for-5 with a double Tuesday in the eighth game of his rehab assignment with Triple-A Indianapolis.

The Pirates said Bae would be in Triple-A for a while working on his defense at second base and in center field, but they’ll have to make a decision soon whether to bring him back to Pittsburgh or send him down. They could have him replace Josh Palacios on the roster, but it seems unlikely that they’d treat him as a regular initially.
Drew Rom

STL Starting Pitcher #67

Drew Rom allowed just one hit over six scoreless innings and fanned eight for Triple-A Memphis on Tuesday.

Rom, who was sent from Baltimore to St. Louis in the Jack Flaherty trade, was facing his old Norfolk teammates in this one. His first two starts in his new organization have seen him allow a total of two runs and strike out 18 in 11 innings, so he might be a candidate to spend some time in the St. Louis rotation down the stretch.
Hunter Greene

CIN Starting Pitcher #21

Hunter Greene (hip) allowed just one hit and struck out nine over 5 2/3 innings in his rehab start for Triple-A Louisville on Tuesday.

Greene worked at 97-100 mph in the 83-pitch outing. One would think this will be enough to get him activated to pitch Sunday or Monday, but the Reds haven’t made anything official yet.
