  • TB Relief Pitcher #62
The 30-year-old hurler hasn’t pitching in the big leagues since the 2020 season with the Blue Jays and spent the past two seasons toeing the slab for the Orix Buffaloes in Japan’s Nippon Professional Baseball. In 2023, he registered a 4.76 ERA, 1.43 WHIP and a 78/30 K/BB ratio over 56 2/3 innings. He’ll add pitching depth in the upper minors for the Rays.
  • INT Starting Pitcher #78
The 26-year-old right-hander was once a top prospect in the Astros’ organization, but really struggled in his last few seasons of affiliated minor league ball. He spent the 2023 campaign in the Mexican League where he registered a 2.76 ERA, 1.18 WHIP and an 84/20 K/BB ratio over 94 2/3 innings in his 17 starts. He then made an additional 10 starts in the Venezuelan Winter League. Perhaps a strong season overseas could open some new opportunities for him stateside.
  • CWS Relief Pitcher #68
The 28-year-old right-hander appeared in just 13 games for the Rangers in 2023 — posting a 4.66 ERA, 1.55 WHIP and a 6/2 K/BB ratio over 9 2/3 innings of work. He has experience in the ninth inning — with 24 career saves to his name — so he could emerge as a high-leverage option for the White Sox as long as he’s able to crack the Opening Day bullpen.
  • Sea Shortstop
The deal is reportedly for $3 million. Joseph is ranked as the 7th-best international prospect in this year’s class, according to MLB Pipeline. He’s one of the more projectable players in the class, and MLB Pipeline refers to him as an infield version of Byron Buxton. He’s an athletic shortstop with plus speed potential and simple mechanics in his swing which leads to strong contact and a good feel for the strike zone. Scouts also believe he could become an above-average defensive shortstop.
  • NYM Catcher
The deal is reportedly for $2.85 million. Rodriguez is the 6th-ranked international prospect, according to MLB Pipeline, but some people think he could emerge as the best player from this class. He is an advanced catching prospect with a good defensive approach and framing and footwork that are advanced for his age. He also has plus arm-strength and great hands, which also carries over on offense with strong bat-to-ball skills with power potential
  • Was Outfielder
The deal is reportedly for $2.7 million. Hurtado is the 20th-ranked international prospect, according to MLB Pipeline. A left-handed hitter, Hurtado has a smooth swing and the frame to grow into both a consistent average and power hitter. The 16-year-old has also “been praised for his work ethic, baseball IQ and overall makeup.”
  • Cin Outfielder
The deal is worth $2.7 million. Sanchez is is the 5th-ranked international prospect, according to MLB Pipeline, and is viewed by many to be one of the best overall hitters in this international signing class. The left-hander has the ability to hit for power to all fields and “the range, ability to get good jumps and plus arm strength potential” to stick in center field.
  • NYY Outfielder
The deal is for $1.75 million. Viloro is the 15th-ranked international prospect, according to MLB Pipeline. He is a tall outfielder who has a projectable frame and clear power potential. However, he also has a solid hit tool, which gives him the chance to hit for average and power. While his defense currently lags behind his offense, he has the raw tools to play center field and the power potential on offense to still be valuable if he needs to move to a corner spot.
  • ChC Shortstop
The deal is worth $4 million. Cruz is the 4th-ranked international prospect, according to MLB Pipeline. He is known for his strength and ability to hit for power to all fields. He has tremendous bat speed, and despite being a free swinger, has good feel for the barre, which should allow him to grow into a 20-to-25 homer hitter as he matures. Cruz also has the frame and tools to hold down the shortstop position long-term.
  • Bos Outfielder
The deal is reportedly for $1 million. Asensio is seen as a “hit over power” hitter with some sneaky pop. He isn’t an overly large player, but he has tremendous athleticism and quickness, which should allow him to stick in center field. He also trained with the same club that produced Miguel Bleis, who was Boston’s top international signing in 2021 and currently ranks as the organization’s No. 5 prospect, according to MLB Pipeline.
