Girls Who Code turns 12 this week. 🎉 This was our first-ever major video, I think from 2013. (Shout-out to MAKERS Women!) 12 years later, the mission of Girls Who Code remains critical. I truly believe it’s these same women and girls who will leverage the power of AI and other technologies to tackle the biggest problems we face: climate, cancer, and inequality, for starters. Here’s to all the Girls Who Code around the world. I'm grateful every day to Tarika Barrett, Ph.D. for steering the ship and continuing to lead GWC into the future.

Executive, Next Gen @ UTA Marketing (Acq. JUV Consulting) | Host of The Screenshot Podcast | Gen Z Speaker & Community Builder | Let's chat about Gen Z, social impact, and events! ✨
So grateful and honored to be one of the "23 Gen Zers to know in advertising and marketing" according to Ad Age. Ziad Ahmed and I are celebrating our one month at United Talent Agency with this incredible feature by the wonderful Gillian Follett (THE Gen Z whisperer in press and someone everyone should be following!!) I want to share some extra love to... Zaria Parvez for being a powerhouse that exemplifies Gen Z's love of humor, comedy (even the dark kind), and culture in real time! She has made the playbook on TikTok marketing and is an amazing Pakistani, Muslim Gen Zer that is unapologetic about her own sense of self and it is partly what makes her an amazing marketer at Duolingo and beyond. Varshini Satish always pops up on my TikTok feed as a creator to follow. She has the best energy, brightens every room with her smile, and amplifies culture through creators at Snap Inc. and her own content, too! Nadya O. is the OG girlboss and someone who was on the team at JUV back in the day, has graced every stage you can think of, and is just brilliant at her core—looking to disrupt business and impact simultaneously. We got to be at MAKERS Women together a few months ago and being able to see her IRL is rare given her hectic schedule but it is always nostalgic and sweet to playback how far we've come along, alhumdulillah. At a time when diversity and representation are so critical and crucial in defining culture, content, and commerce, I get to be on this list with amazing people, including these three awe-inspiring Asian women that I have highlighted. It makes me so proud to say that we see trailblazers that represent the myriad of lived experiences reflected in Gen Z and only hope we get to see more untold stories in the mainstream. #genz #genzmarketing #advertising #marketing #adage #asianamerican #asianexcellence
