Rodriguez, who was signed to a five-year, $32 million contract over the winter, will be summoned after two appearances at Triple-A Buffalo in which he struck out 10 in 6 1/3 scoreless innings. It’s unclear if he’ll immediately replace Bowden Francis in the rotation or perhaps piggyback off him initially, but he’s certainly a more interesting option in fantasy leagues than Francis is.

Cowser lifted Baltimore to a three-game sweep at Fenway Park with the first two homers of his career. The 24-year-old connected on an 85-mph cutter from Red Sox starter Garrett Whitlock, lifting an opposite-field homer into the Green Monster, in the fifth inning for his first career homer. He also added a three-run shot off reliever Isaiah Campbell in the 10th inning to ostensibly put the contest away. Cowser has been on fire over his last three games, racking up five hits and 10 RBI during that span. He should probably be playing everyday moving forward and warrants consideration for a roster spot in deeper mixed leagues.

Suárez put together one of his strongest performances in recent memory, limiting Pittsburgh’s lineup to just four baserunners over six brilliant frames. He induced 12 swinging strikes and finished with a respectable 32 percent CSW on 97 pitches (62 strikes). He’ll bring a solid 2.65 ERA, 0.71 WHIP and 19/3 K/BB ratio across 17 innings (three starts) into a favorable home outing on Wednesday against the Rockies.

Jones authored yet another brilliant performance, limiting Philadelphia’s strong lineup to just a fourth-inning solo homer by Alec Bohm until he coughed up a two-run shot to Brandon Marsh in the seventh inning. He generated 15 swinging strikes and finishing with a 33 percent CSW. The 22-year-old top pitching prospect has induced a surreal 58 swinging strikes in his first three career starts. He’ll carry a strong 4.00 ERA, 0.94 WHIP and 25/2 K/BB ratio across 18 innings (three starts) into a road tilt on Tuesday against the Mets. Simply put, he’s the real deal.

Well, that was fast. Colás was up for just one game with the White Sox and wound up going 0-for-1 at the dish. The 25-year-old corner outfielder will head back to the minors. No word yet on the corresponding move for Chicago ahead of Friday’s series opener against the Reds.

Wood put on an extremely impressive power display in this one, taking Blue Jays top left-handed pitching prospect Ricky Tiedemann deep in the third inning before adding another solo shot in the late stages of the contest. All four of his hits carried exit velocities in excess of 106 mph. That’ll work. The monster four-hit performance raises his batting average to .441 (15-for-34) with two homers and two steals through nine contests for Triple-A Rochester. More importantly, he’s struck out just seven times and drawn nine walks during that span. The 21-year-old top prospect’s recent effort to shorten his swing in an effort to make more contact is clearly working and it has the potential to rapidly expedite his timeline to the majors. He’s worthy of a speculative stash in deeper mixed leagues until further notice.

Tiedemann averaged 95 mph on his four-seam fastball in this one and generated 14 swinging strikes, finishing with a borderline-elite 37 percent CSW. He notched seven strikeouts and only issued three walks. It was a nice rebound performance for the 21-year-old top pitching prospect after a pair of tough outings to open the season. He figures to make his Toronto debut at some point this summer, if not sooner.

Sears needed to be at his best with his starting counterpart Jon Gray allowing just one run, fand he was up to the task. He allowed just one hit throughout the contest — a single by Adolis Garcia — and he whiffed five in arguably the best start of his young career. Sears struggled against Detroit in his last start and was the owner of an 8.68 ERA, but this is a nice reminder that he’s a capable hurler when things are clicking. As good as he was, he would be a risky streaming decision if managers used him against the Cardinals on Tuesday.

Witt Jr. homered in the first — in his second at-bat of the inning — and gave Kansas City a 9-0 lead. Six innings later with two runners on, the 23-year-old gave the Royals a 10-run cushion with a three-run tank off Bryan Abreu and made the score 13-3. The stolen base was the third of the year. Oh, Witt Jr. also scored four runs and added a pair of singles. Just thought that might be something people would be interested in. What a tremendous start to the year for the shortstop.

Not ideal. Brown threw 40 pitches before the Astros decided that was enough in what can only be classified as a disaster for the right-hander. The final blow was a homer by Bobby Witt Jr. — in his second at-bat in the inning — that made the score 9-0 and cemented the blowout. Brown was shaky in his last outing against the Rangers last weekend. This goes beyond shaky. He now owns an 18.43 ERA, and will try and bounce back Atlanta on Tuesday.
