Starling Marte

NYM Center Fielder #6

Starling Marte (knee) went 1-for-2 with a homer on Thursday in a minor league rehab game for Low-A St. Lucie.

Marte also played five innings in right field on Thursday in his latest rehab contest in the lower minors. He’s probably going to need a couple additional rehab games to get back up to speed as he works his way back from a right knee bone bruise that put him on the shelf back in late June.
Mark Vientos

NYM Third Baseman #27

Mark Vientos hit a two-run homer in a blowout win over the Rockies on Thursday.

Vientos cemented the blowout with a two-run shot off Peter Lambert that gave the Mets a 7-0 lead. The 24-year-old has shown off the power all year with 17 homers and an impressive .543 slugging mark in 245 at-bats for the Mets in 2024.
Pete Alonso

NYM First Baseman #20

Pete Alonso homered twice while going 3-for-5 with three RBI in a 9-1 rout of the Rockies on Thursday.

Alonso took Austin Gomber deep twice. He gave the Mets a 4-0 lead with a two-run bomb off Gomber in the first, and he clobbered another in the third to make it 5-0. Those two homers combined to go nearly 900 feet, and he’s up to 25 dingers on the year with 63 RBI.
David Peterson

NYM Starting Pitcher #23

David Peterson went five innings while allowing just a run to the Rockies to pick up a win Thursday.

Peterson issued three walks against five strikeouts and he allowed four hits. Despite a decent amount of traffic, the left-hander only allowed a sac fly in the fifth inning while throwing 88 pitches —51 of those going for strikes. Peterson is now 6-1 on the season with a commendable 3.34 ERA. He gets the A’s next week.
Francisco Lindor

NYM Shortstop #12

Francisco Lindor went 2-for-5 with a run scored, two RBI, and a stolen base in the Mets’ 5-3 win over the Rockies on Wednesday.

Lindor knocked a base hit to lead off the game and stole second before scoring on a single by Pete Alonso. He late came up big in the ninth, driving in two-runs with a bases-loaded single to give the Mets the lead. The 30-year-old shortstop is hitting .254/.330/.455 with 22 homers, 75 runs scored, 66 RBI, and 24 steals across 521 plate appearances.
Edwin Diaz

NYM Relief Pitcher #39

Edwin Díaz allowed one run while striking out two batters to earn the save against the Rockies on Wednesday.

Díaz was summoned to close out the game in the bottom of the ninth with a three-run lead. He gave up a leadoff triple to Michael Toglia who would score on a groundout. Díaz then struck out two of the final three batters to earn his 14th save of the season.
Paul Blackburn

NYM Starting Pitcher #58

Paul Blackburn allowed two runs -- one earned -- with six strikeouts over six innings in a no-decision against the Rockies on Wednesday.

Blackburn served up a solo homer to Ezequiel Tovar in the first inning. A double, passed ball error, and base hit brought an unearned run in to score in the fourth. Blackburn tossed two more scoreless frames, striking out six and posting a quality start in Colorado. He’s now allowed one earned run over six innings in both of his starts with the Mets. The 30-year-old right-hander will take a 3.86 ERA, 1.17 WHIP, and a 50/18 K/BB ratio across 63 innings into a start against the Athletics in New York on Tuesday.
J.D. Martinez

NYM Designated Hitter #28

J.D. Martinez is not in the Mets’ starting lineup for Wednesday night’s showdown against the Rockies at Coors Field.

It appears to be just a breather for the 36-year-old slugger, but having to miss Ryan Feltner at Coors Field isn’t the greatest news from a fantasy perspective. Jesse Winker will function as the team’s designated hitter on Wednesday while Ben Gamel draws a rare start in right field and will bat eighth for the Mets.
Starling Marte

NYM Center Fielder #6

Starling Marte went 1-for-3 with a stolen base as a DH for Single-A St. Lucie on Wednesday.

Marte, out since late June with a bone bruise in his right knee, was making his first appearance on a rehab assignment. Once back, he’ll probably get the majority of the starts in right field over Jesse Winker, though he likely will get enough days off to cut into his fantasy value.
Reed Garrett

NYM Relief Pitcher #75

Reed Garrett, who is returning from elbow inflammation, struck out three in a scoreless inning for Triple-A Syracuse on Tuesday.

Garrett was making his second rehab appearance after giving up three runs for Double-A Binghamton on Sunday. He’ll likely be activated this weekend.
