We believe in a society where everyone belongs, through sport

Our Mission

We are shaping a movement to ensure young people affected by displacement thrive through safe sport

Our work

It is easy to take the feeling of home for granted. That sense of being safe, welcome and respected. For young people uprooted by conflict, persecution or disaster, sport can offer a safe haven. Sport can develop stronger ties in communities, provide opportunities to learn new skills, build networks and improve health.

We want to ensure 1 million young people access safe sport by 2024. To do this we’re focused on making an impact in three areas:

IOC Refugee Olympic Team Paris 2024
IOC Refugee Olympic Team Paris 2024

IOC Refugee Olympic Team Paris 2024

The Refugee Olympic Team Paris 2024 was made up of 37 athletes from different backgrounds, living in 15 countries and competing in 12 different sports at the Olympic Games Paris 2024. Appearing at the Olympic Games for the third time, the IOC Refugee Olympic Team represented the more than 100 million displaced people around the world.

This is a team like no other
This is a team like no other

This is a team like no other

Why? Because on this team, displaced young people rebuild their lives. Through sport, and the Olympic spirit, they find belonging. Develop life skills. And shape their own futures.
