Kmart has issued a recall for a child's toy over a "risk of serious injury or death". The Australian Competition and Consumer Commission issued a warning that the Anko soft activity ball posed a choking hazard and may not comply with mandatory standards for toys for kids up to three years of age.
Two rattles on either end of the colourful toy contain small balls that can separate from the product. "There is a risk of serious injury or death from choking if young children put the small balls in their mouth," the product recall said.
The Anko soft activity ball was sold at Kmart and Target between August 3 and October 18.
It has also been distributed online.
Both have become favourites for Australians hoping to ease financial pressure in the cost-of-living crisis.
Target started stocking Anko products after a $10 billion merger of the two retailers.

What do I do if I have a recalled product?
Consumers who have purchased the recalled child's toy have been told to stop using it immediately and ensure it is out of reach of children.
The item can be returned to the place of purchase for a refund.
Kmart changed its return policy in July, requiring a receipt for all change-of-mind returns.
However, the policy change does not apply to faulty items.
You can contact Kmart on 1800 124 125 between 7am and 6pm for assistance Monday to Friday.
You can also reach out online here.
The Australian Product Number for the toy is 9341110379350.
