President Trump had success wooing the working class to the Republican party to win the presidency. He sees this labor addition to the party as a key constituent of a new political alignment that will replace what Trump called Franklin Roosevelt's New Deal coalition that has lasted a century. In a nod to Teamsters president Sean O'Brien, Trump nominated Lori Chavez-DeRemer, a rare, pro-union Republican, as labor secretary. With both the nomination and the pursuit of this new coalition, Trump is setting up a major clash between the rising nationalist wing, led by J.D.
