Oracle has what it needs to be a 'winner,' analyst says
Mizuho Americas Managing Director Siti Panigrahi joins Market Domination to discuss the evolving landscape of the cloud sector, highlighting Oracle's (ORCL) emergence as a market leader. Panigrahi emphasizes Oracle's transformation, noting that "no one really believed that Oracle can deliver double-digit growth" following a decade of modest 2% growth between 2012 and 2022. While acknowledging that the company's recent success is "partly fueled by AI," he stresses that artificial intelligence isn't the sole catalyst for Oracle's growth. "A decade ago, they didn't have anything," Panigrahi explains. "This time around, they have everything [including data and infrastructure] to be the winner here, and that's kind of driving incremental growth." He characterizes this period as "a new era" for the company. Regarding the broader cloud sector, Panigrahi advises investors to focus on SaaS (Software as a Service) and cloud application companies, arguing that their vast data positions them to capitalize on the AI wave.
