The series is named for a fictional New England island town which is afflicted with a centuries-old curse that brings supernatural evils upon the island.

It has some really touching moments, overall decent, but I wouldn't rewatch. I guess it depends on where you are in life. Watching this as an adult made me think more deeply about certain issues faced from a teenage perspective, but I didn't find it memorable in the way Life Unexpected or The Village were, for example. But of course, the level of emotional involvement and the way a show pulls at one's heart strings are subjective.
took a min to get into and unerstand the plot but once there it didn't disappoint.. a good watch too bad it's only 2 seasons...
