Last week our team had the privilege of attending the Wounds Australia 2026 Conference in Adelaide. This year’s theme was Strengthening Networks, reflecting the desire to collaborate and achieve better outcomes for people living with wounds. It was a pleasure to represent Savers® Australia and support our not-for-profit partner, Wounds Australia, at the conference. We enjoyed connecting with attendees and sharing information about how they can donate quality secondhand goods at Savers® Marleston. Donations of clothing and household goods received on behalf of Wounds Australia help generate vital funding to support their important programs and services. We were also honoured to receive a Partnership Award from Wounds Australia, recognising our shared commitment to improving lives, strengthening communities, and extending awareness and support beyond the wound care sector. This recognition reflects the strength of our partnership and the meaningful impact we can create together. What a day and what a team! Today, we officially opened the doors to Savers® Geelong, our 10th store in Victoria and our first store outside metropolitan Melbourne in more than 20 years. It was incredible to welcome the Geelong community through our doors and celebrate the excitement and joy that our treasure-hunting experience brings. This store is an easy, convenient way to donate clothing and household items to our not-for-profit partner Diabetes Victoria. Savers® accepts these items on behalf of Diabetes Victoria and pays them for these donations, helping fund programs that create a future where people with diabetes live longer, healthier lives and a cure is found. Savers® recently had the pleasure of meeting with the talented first-year students from RMIT's Bachelor of Fashion (Design) program in the School of Fashion & Textiles, following the completion of their end-of-semester showcase project. Using post-consumer garments and textiles, including unsellable business shirts from Savers® Brunswick, students explored innovative approaches to designing, cutting, and creating fashion with a second life in mind. Each student's unique perspective took their project in a completely different direction. Students worked with unexpected silhouettes and construction techniques paired with bold conceptual thinking to bring these pieces to life. Despite working with existing garments, every piece felt fresh, original and distinctly their own. A huge congratulations to all the students who showcased their work. We're proud to support emerging designers and can't wait to see where their creativity takes them next. This National Diabetes Week, we're proud to stand alongside our not-for-profit partners, Diabetes Victoria and the Diabetes Innovation Impact Foundation, as they amplify the voices of people affected by diabetes.   Over the past year, more than 800 community members, advocates, and leaders have shared their Messages That Matter, messages of hope, truth, resilience, and advocacy that are helping shape conversations and drive meaningful change.   Every message represents a lived experience. Every story helps build a stronger case for better support, awareness, and outcomes for the diabetes community.   We’re proud of our 28-year partnership with Diabetes Victoria and our recently launched partnership with the Diabetes Innovation Impact Foundation.
