LIGHTS TO FLAG WIN FOR GEORGE IN BAKU ☝️🩵

George Russell claimed pole position for Sunday's Race at the Azerbaijan GP in commanding fashion, finishing eight tenths ahead of the field. In doing so, he became the fourth driver for the Team to take pole at Baku City Circuit. Kimi Antonelli will start in P16 - after making contact with the wall in Q1, he was unable to participate in further Qualifying sessions. "Congratulations to George and the team on a well deserved pole. He has been strong all weekend and looked to take another step into qualifying. By the final session it didn't look like there was anyone to challenge him and his final lap was exceptional. Kimi had a tough time with a mistake that took him out of the running from early in Q1 when he misjudged the entry to Turn 1. He's clearly disappointed, especially having seen the potential that was in the car today, but we'll look at plans that allow him to mount a strong recovery. With George we need to see if we've got the pace to control the race, but even if that is strong, it can be a difficult race to manage given the risk of incidents coupled with the fact that we may be having to cover off numerous threats from behind. The car has been competitive from the first session and that's given us a great opportunity tomorrow. Last night, our team members, family, friends and members of our local community came together for our annual Charity Football Match against Aston Martin F1 Team Our men’s team retained the trophy with a 3-1 victory, while our women's team delivered a fantastic performance in a closely fought game. Most importantly, the event raised vital funds for our chosen causes. We were proud to play for Helen & Douglas House, our local children's hospice and charity partner, who help make every moment count for local terminally ill children and their families. Through events such as these, our team has now raised more than £125,000 to support the families in the hospice’s care. Thank you to everyone who donated, took part, and cheered our squads on from the sidelines.
